Shorten PAL Approval Times

Not sure i will call when the transfer is done, maybe it will be in the email notification?

It will say right on the ATT in the "Valid Period" box. My temp/short term says From: January 11th, 2013 To: January 11th, 2013. Turns out I didn't need it anyway, my husband was home when the Postie showed up to deliver it so he signed for it.

Does anyone one know if calling the BC CFO will speed things up? I had my interview a day after my referees did, and its been 28 days since the interview....62 days in total. I called the RCMP and they told me its still sat with the CFO.

Sucks...I was thinking you would have it yesterday or today....it'll be a long weekend
Hope it shows Monday

Ya I had high hopes for this week but alas, nothin! Going to take my sister and or bro in law(have rpals) to pick up my rifle to finish the transaction. Kinda sucks I have to leave it at their place till it shows. Baby steps, baby steps, baby steps.

I hear ya! was hoping to get mine in the mail today, next wed will be 2 weeks

Fingers crossed for ya bud! Hopefully your pal wasn't printed on the last Friday before the two week period they say to wait before calling (as mine was). With that said, the mail delivery time should be much shorter as apposed to coming out west.

Called the call center again today and was told BC currently has a huge backlog and we could be waiting for a while. She wouldn't give me a time frame but when I asked her if my wait of 8 weeks is normal she said its common.

8 weeks? From when it initially shows up online as "in progress", or from time it shows "as issued"? I'm quickly approaching a month since initially showing up online and Monday will be 3 weeks since it showed up that it had been issued.

'Issued' seems to have multiple meanings with the CFC. Mine was printed and mailed 4 days after it showed as 'issued' on-line. I think the on-line 'issued' only means 'approved and ready to print when we get around to it'....oops, there I go being sarcastic again

The biggest problem is the consistency. Some on here wait weeks, some issued on the 28th day. And unfortunately there's no real accountability. Worse yet is BC transfer times. Prepare to wait longer for that then your pal or rpal.

No, its been just over 8 weeks since its been with the CFO...its not showing as issued yet.

You should call the CFO directly, tell them it hasn't arrived. They only print on a Friday so you might have another week before its reprinted and sent out.

Actually, when I talked to the Alberta CFO she told me they print every day but it could be a few days before mine got printed depending where I was in the Q...mine was printed on a Tuesday according to the paperwork that came with it, that showed the actual issued date was 4 days after my on-line issued date.

Oh I did, that's how I found out it was printed/mailed just before the 2 weeks was up. I did account for Christmas/new years but apparently I didn't account enough time. Lol. It's now been 1 week since printing and mailing and still nothing in the mail box. Come on Monday!
