I have been collecting Browning high power's since 1968. I would put my Pachmayr Custom High Power up against any 9mm. Pachmayr Senior took a brand new Browning HP in 1972 and made it a work of art. The trigger pull is like the old S&W revolvers. He told me he wouldn't do another because of the time it took him to do it 'right". He was the .45 Colt Guy of his time and wanted to do a HP to see if it could be made to "shoot". It does!!!! Those were the days when you could just ship a pistol to the US and get the work done with no issue at all. America didn't care and all Canada wanted was a transfer permit to and from the US Border.

i have an older browning 9mm high power.. second favorite gun in my assortment love it.. shoots great and consistant second only to my smith & wesson .357 mag on the k frame... for semi-auto don't think you can beat it
Mine is just like yours with the small sight. This is a custom made (pimped) Novak BHP. They are novak sights, not sure wich one. I was able to buy the same grips online from Thailand. I haven't made jump yet for the sights.

That is gorgeous! What sights are on it? I have a T-Series from I think about the same date but it has the tiny military sights which I'd like to replace.

This thread made me go dust off my BHP and fondle it(last night). All I can say is it felt great and I really need to take it out and shoot it.
Here's a couple of old pics when I first got it....It now wears a set of Pachmayr Signature grips.
I bought a new HP in 2010. It was my first pistol by a few days. It had the non-adjustable rear sight. It always shot low and to the right for me. It is me not the gun I think. I removed the clip safety to smooth the trigger it is not easy to do but doable, you should get the proper punches first and a soft hammer as well. I really should have bought the adjustable sight model. I am now in the process of trading it off. It is too small for my large hands, I added Pachmyr grips but that didn't help me, it is a little light for my tastes. I never liked the design of the pistol compared to the design (looks) of a 1911. The fact that I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it was what put me over the edge. Normally I would never get rid of something like this but I am getting a classic 1911 for it.
