so the stock wood for my new 858 made me vomit in my mouth.

For custom work contact Bfiles on this forum he makes excellent custom sets. If You are looking for original brand new Czech army beech wood sets I will have few in stock in a week will post the price when they arrive but it will be very reasonable

Somebody recently posted a CZ/VZ with walnut out of the US that was the nicest I've seen.....but I also like the original utilitarian look!

Ironwood Designs has beautiful furniture, true to the Czech heritage but a little thicker and longer pistol grip. They are from California though...

That doesn't look half bad, as far as covering up the beaver barf. I wish they would offer these rifles with real wood and not in limited supplies like the Canadian edition. Or at least allow a cheaper alternative to sourse the original wood sets.

For a low budget option you can fix up the beaver barf with some sanding and tru-oil.

Crappy pics, but the results are incredible. The tru-oil darkens the red resin to a dark brown and adds a nice blonde to the wood chips which brings alot of contrast. Once sanded smooth and built up with tru-oil, then buffed to a matte finish they look worlds apart.
