7 Round Mags

Just read an email from WNPPL that stated the state of New York is going to sign into law a magazine capacity of 7 rounds max. MH states that this will end USPSA/IPSC shooting at his club and all others as hicap are not grandfathered. Man our 10 max looks pretty good now.
Aand l did enjoy my trips for the shooting and shopping
 
It's early days yet. Things can get a lot worse. I don't know how this will affect our current Form 6's, transitioning through NY to attend matches in other states or any of that stuff. AND we have no idea if our own Federal Government has something in the works or not either. It sure wouldn't surprise me the way things are going.
 
Nothing has passed yet and the Democrats may not have the votes they think they have at the National level when push comes to shove. What some States do is anyones guess. I am betting some States will ignore Federal legislation and simply won't enforce whatever Obama comes up with.

Children get murdered by a guy with four handguns and the Democrats want to ban assault rifles. Typical, but in the US they know they wouldn't have a snow balls chance in hell of banning handguns.

It seems like pure insanity, until you realize they been waiting for something like this to happen so they could media-torque the leverage they need to pass it. Rage is always illogical but easily channeled when dealing with a mob. That's exactly what they are banking on; widespread unfocused public rage to which they can point the "evil gun owners" as the cause. It's the reason they're pushing so fast on this; they don't want the window of sober second thought and reason to open. Same as they did with Bill C68 here in Canada.

I agree, this whole situation reminds me (kind of) John Cusack in Runaway Jury. How they were suing the gun manufacturer and won the case. His explanation for how he convinced the whole jury to vote against the manufacturer was something along the lines of "you let people vote based on their emotions"

Depends which discipline that you shoot. I'm shooting some "Wild Bunch" matches in the States this year and had to go out and buy 7 rd mags. I highly recommend Tripp Research for reliability, they are as good as Wilson 47D's.

If you happen to be an IPSC/USPSA shooter running a 2011 platform you're screwed.
 
I believe the highway act would protect any persons who are driving thru with high caps or higher than 7rd mags....same as mass.
 
Governor Cuomo fast tracked the bill so that the NRA could not mobilize and fight the bill. He wants to prepare as a candidate for the next presidential elections. There's always a hidden agenda.

He is an idiot. He doesn't even know how doing it right. He hates guns, and is known for his anti gun agenda. Criminals, sure will load only 7 rounds, but being so to the left, he will forbid officials to reveal the size of the mag used in crime. Typical lefty. This is why we don't vote for them. I don't like everything what right stands for, heck no, but I love freedoms and having liberals or democrats at helm bit by bit we are loosing it

Last i heard, the democrats do have the leverage at the national level. Also more than enough various law enforcement agencies in the US to enforce federal laws. Really not looking good for our friends in the states right now.
