Shot Show 2013 Report: The Orgin-12 Shotgun

Interesting gun, looks like sombody got a little excited when they designed it and forgot to leave any smooth surfaces on the gun though. It's all covered with lines and slots and grooves everywhere. Looks a touch busy right now to my eyes.

It's painful watching anyone use a detachable mag fed shotgun at competitions due to all the jamming! I tried and tried to get mine to work more than 60 percent of the time and gave up. In the US they put a lot of work in the detachable mag feds to get them to work for the big matches but it can be done. Hopefully this one works out of the box for that price!

Why do guys buy 5/30 AR mags? AR drums? 5/60 Surefires? They look cool!

I suppose. There are sound reasons to use 5/30 mags, but none for the drums. I don't have enough spare money to waste it on non-functional gun stuff, I would much rather have 6 5/30 Pmags than one 5/100 drum mag for the same money.

For that tacticool factor

Fair enough. Your money, your toys. I was thinking solely from a functional/competition standpoint and not the mall ninja view. I do appreciate all the pics you post of your toys.;)

Sorry but that thing is just clunky and HUGE....weld lines on the block? Thing looks like something a GI JOE would carry, and at 2600 you better have nice welds and not that stick rod :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:.

I read all the posts looking for someone to finally mention this. The welding was ghastly and I am no welder, but I know a good weld from garbage. It's too bad, but for $2600 I would have hoped for a much better specimen.

Not even close to my price range, especially since it looks scary enough that the champagne socialists will want it restricted. Looks like fun though.

Looks like an American company's answer to the Saiga. $2600 would a actually be cheaper than putting all the dollars into getting a Saiga to run reliably. Look forward to seeing some of these at 3 gun matches in the US this year!

I often wonder why modern tactical looking weapons like his are so pricey, they seem to make lot of them, are made with alright quality metal with as much plastic as possible, using as little machining as possible but still cost a boat load. The profit margins must be insane once you start selling a lot.
