currently using a redfiled 3-9 x 40 model 67095. Visibility was amazing at 50m at 100m its getting tough to get a good look at a 8inch target. Was wondering if there is a scope that will give me more magnification without distortion. . Id like a scope that I can take out to 200 maybe 300m and not need a spotting scope is that possible?

What rifle is this on? What's your budget for this new scope?
If you use light colored targets instead of black targets they are a little easier to see bullets holes. A Banner 6-18 Dusk to Dawn is a great scope for the money provided you aren't shooting a 340 Weatherby. FS

A stupid question I know, but did you focus the ocular lens properly? If it is focused properly, you should be able to quickly mount the gun, and looking at clear sky the reticle should be sharp, if not adjust in, or out.
If you want to shoot out to 300, and use your scope as a spotter, it will depend on caliber, target, and magnification. Sure sometimes you can see your hits at 300 on 9x or less, but mostly I would say a 6-18 would be better, and a spotting scope is always nice to have.
Im shooting a M305. The rifle needs adjusting, I know that. The glass is crystal clear but just can see much past 100m with much certainty when looking at 8inch colored target. The target can be seen @ 100m and also the holes but anything past it just guessing really without a spotting spotter/ spotting scope. Is this normal. My eyes are 20/20.

sightron 36 power for around $400 might do what you need not sure of anything under $1000 that will give you as clear a picture at 200-300m its a BR favorite among shooters and absolutely no good for anything else. tried gopher hunting with one, once I found the gopher I could hit it in the eye. Finding the gopher was near impossible. You are asking for a lot out of an inexpensive scope
