FN Five-Seven, would you buy one?

I'd like one, but there is no real solid reason why. Perhaps the idea of a centerfire .22 appeals to me.

Your thoughts?

If i was rich and had the time and money to play, absolutely I would get one, it's different and interesting. Would I buy one right now instead of something else in 9mm, 40 or 45? nope, couldn't afford to feed it.

I'd buy one, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it. Too costly to plink, I don't live in the country so I don't do any varminting...

Showing off, maybe? Collecting? Just getting it for the sake of getting it? Maybe what it does isn't that important, but maybe what it is. I mean, I'd buy it for the sake of buying it if I had the chance!

I dunno, if having the famous FN Five-seveN is that important to you, by all means, it's up to you, dude.

But I have a feeling these things will be hailed as the 'vest buster' or 'cop-killer' gun by the antis, and they could be banned or prohibited, so I guess there's always the dilemma - buy now and have a safe queen when you get it grandfathered, or miss out and lose your chance entirely. Always a dilemma. Always a hard decision.

I'll get one to go with my PS90 and FS2000. Gotta have the set of three ;)

But you're right, I don't really know if it's any better for punching paper then any other handgun I've got.

I'm glad someone started this thread.
I've been given the 'opportunity' to pick up one of the few units in country.
I'm not sure how bad the hassle is to get ammo, as well as there being zero backup on mags/spares, etc.(I love to have backups to my backups!)
I must admit that I am intrigued, but am still sitting on the fence.

I think I'd get one.. But I have small hands and I'm concerned that the thing would be too big for my itty bitty little paws....

No. Great big 'whoop-dee-do' about nothing.... Shot one when FN first came out with it & company reps they were showing them off for the first time in BC.

Should've been smart enough to scoop up all the empty brass that was laying around the range that day, though... :(

I found SS196 shooting slower/lower then SS195 in my PS90. SS197 was also slower/lower then my SS195, but not as bad as the SS196.

I just like watching the eyes glow in the guys beside me when I pull the trigger. I tried turning out the range lights..(FLASH!!)...WOW, more fun than stepping on baby chickens!!!

Yes the 5.7 is awesome in a pistol, I refer to it like an AR in your hand. The quality and design of the FN five seven( the ones I carry) are excellent with awesome TRILUX sights, great ergonomics and the frame is no bigger than a glock 20. And mine come with 20 rounders pinned to 10. I would take the Five seven over an HK Mark23 anyday, It has a real high more lethal-cool factor than anything else right now in the pistol class.
