Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying one of these. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them and also if anyone from Nova Scotia (preferably Halifax area) knows of any local shops who carry these. I know Wolverine has them in stock, I just wanted to check locally first.

Cheers,
Eastwood

I have one and it's a great pistol. The finish wears off a bit quick. I have "holster wear" on the front of mine even though I don't own a holster for the gun. Take down and cleaning are easy and most really 1911 accessories fit on it. I hay aftermarket grips on mine and had no issues with fitting them. It's mor accurate than I am at the moment so no worries about that. Mags are readily available, I have 3 myself. Th eonly other 22 pistol I would buy over this is a stainless Ruger MK series with the target barrel. If anyone wants to trade for one of those I'd be glad to haha.

Love my gsg, shoot it more than any other pistol I own, great for drills ect, good quality mags, shoots straight...... Really the best 350+$ you will spend....
Yes the finish wears pretty quickly, but so far done around 8000 rounds of fed bulk, with practically no issues. Did polish the feed ramp... Enjoy your pistol....

I love mine too. Great pistol. No problems so far, but I have less than 1000 rnds down range with. Looks good, works good and priced right. I got mine form Wolverine, great service.

I have the Sig version...same HG with some cosmetic differences for a few more $$. The plastic sights aren't great quality but work and after breaking mine in with CCI HV ammo it runs fine on cheap Win555's. Good quality steel mags.
It's not a "target" pistol but a fun plinker.

That's what I've been looking at lately too. I haven't seen any negative things said about it yet (except the barrel bushing cracking issue, but that seems easily avoided with some care going by the sticky thread). Everyne has great reviews on it on CGN and elsewhere. Watching some youtube vids it looks fairly easy to maintain and modify.

I have tried a 1911 9mm before and loved it. Loved the feel of it, the look of it and was very accurate even for my first time to the range:rolleyes: it gave me a lot of confidence handling a handgun for the first time. I really like the look of them too, when I picture a pistol in my head that's what I see. Other have recommend Ruger's MkIII or (II or I) but I'm not really a fan of the fixed barrel look.

I am 95% sure that's what I'll be getting as well for my first one, unless someone can convince me of another one of that quality for that price. As for where to buy it I looked at most of the sponsored dealer sites here and I've found Al Flaherty's has the best price. But a few others have it as well so try checking them out.

Ugh it's going to be a looong few months waiting before I can get my first purchase :sok2

I have the 'silencer' version. The only problem was when I over tightened the plastic rear sight and stripped it. The distributor sent another out IMMEDIATELY. Unfortunately, the envelope arrived damaged and the sight s missing. After calling again they sent me another sight just as quickly. Great customer service. Gun has had many boxes through it and runs great when clean. Magazine gets 'sticky' when the gun is not cleaned (although that's not really the guns fault!)
Many parts are interchangeable with 'real' 1911 parts, like sights, trigger, grips, safety.

Overall, I would give it full marks. A very good gun, especially for the money. VERY happy with it.
