22 rimfire shortages?

Nope, plenty at Wallyworld yesterday as well as some .223 (evil, scary, ultra high powered ammo that cannot be used for big game hunting since it is not powerful enough). :)

Around greater Edmonton we are doing ok as far as rimfire goes. WSS was a little understocked, no AE or Federal at all (surprise, surprise, LOL) but good supply of Winchester and Remington (if you like Thunderbolts and Yellow Jackets) , Cabella's very good selection overall. P and D very good stock as usual. Local Canadian tire and Walmarts have lots. We'll have to see what happens around April and May when the gophers wake up.

I havent seen any issues here. I have some family in Ohio and was down for new years. We went to the local shop and found the walls bare of any guns or ammo. Had lots of .22 but 9mm and .45 were almost sold out.

I have noticed a couple local can tire stores have practically no .22lr ammo, and limited stock at gun shops also. Ive been looking for subsonics for a while. Luckily, I have alot of various .22lr ammo in my inventory at home, so I should never run out completely. The next time I find a good sale on some, I am planning to really stock up on it, because who knows if .22lr will be harder to find in the future, and the price will only increase over time.

So are we suggesting stocking up on 22 ammo? I just bought 6 boxes of .270 win ammo and have about 3500 rounds of .22. Should I be stocking up for the zombie gopher attack?

I have about 35,000 or more of .22 hp. Whenever it goes on a decent sale at my local Co-op, I buy. I stock up on shotgun shells, too. El cheapo shotgun ammo such as Winchester Super Target or AA, Federal or what ever. Mil slurp ammo, too.

Two things you never want to run low on in life - a$$wipe and ammunition. :)

I was at Canadian tire on Saturday and they had some wickedly overpriced 22's. Think it was ~$30 for a box of 500 / 525...

I just grabbed 4 boxes of 555 for $22/box and 2 boxes of federal 525 for $24/box at the local Walmart.
They still had lots left including some dynapoints, Winchester HV etc.

Ammunition is always hit or miss up here so it's nothing new. Buy it when they have it...

That said I have like 10+ bricks of 22lr on the shelf(mostly different) and probably 3-4 partials in the range kit(diff types). Why do I feel like I need more? :p

Was At Crappy tire today, they usually have a lot of .22 in stock. However there was only one type of bulk in stock and only 4 types of 50nrd paks. Along with a lot of empty spaces. I enquired into ordering in some m22 100rnd boxes @$50. But the girl at the desk said "all our bullets come from the states, and there not shipping anything through to us"

Wss here still has about 20,000 bricks of winchester. A whole lot of remington. Heck they even had 100 or so ammo cans of fmj223. Lots of 22lr at cabelas here as well.

Unless things have changes, all bullets Can Tire stocks are sent out from the Distribution Center in Brampton on Goreway Dr. .... worked there many moons ago.... Big steel caged area just for ammo... but again, things may have changed...I really doubt anyone at the store level would know anything more specific than if it was available from the warehouse.
