Anyone know where to get a frame only 1911 in AL or Ti?

I am looking for a project gun and want an aluminum (or Titanium? $$$$$) 1911, Anyone know where I can just buy a frame in Canada?

Caspian makes a Ti frame ($515 plus import and taxes) - it's the same as importing a gun (frame = gun), perhaps Prophet River, or Irunguns can help.

Svi also makes titanium 1911's. You can contact them about a frame. Would the denser frame wear out your slide? Usually the frame is the softer material. Like would the frame and slide have to be titanium or can you run a steel slide on one? I started a thread about titanium 1911's you should search it. I also posted a link to svi's website

I am leaning towards the Al frame due to cost and wear.

Yes the frame would eventually weat out the steel slide. And you really cannot do a ti slide because of the lack of weight for cyclic rate dampening. You could do it but just thinking of the spring system needed to slow it down
