7 Round Mags

.... Wonder how they will deal with the garand ... That's a serious question as I don't think it's ever been dealt with other than here.

As the us are defend themselves you'd think 10 rounds would be reasonable not 7

There is no resonable mag limit that would make society safe from law abiding gun owners. It's a mask made to fool the non gun friendly public into a false sense of security while getting politicians votes for the trickery. All of us have full cap mags with a 5 cent pop rivet that says we don't.

It is a poorly advise and written law. I think, they will make some changes. Even dumbass like gov. Cuomo will not screw up guns which saved the world from Nazi or put a complete stop on competition shooting. NY is a huge state and shooting is a recreation and sport, so there will be made some amendments, otherwise he will hear from his people all the time.
He hates guns, but he is serious about becoming a pres, and needs to show that to people, he needs to find the ways to work out certain things... Time will show, I hope I am right.

Looks like your wrong - its signed into law.

The Garand has an 8rd clip and a bayonet lug, so it is designated as an assault rifle. On the positive side, it means gang bangers will no longer be doing drivebys with the Garand! (Note: heavy use of sarcasim)

Last i heard, the democrats do have the leverage at the national level. Also more than enough various law enforcement agencies in the US to enforce federal laws. Really not looking good for our friends in the states right now.

John.

They don't control the Congress the Republicans do. The 10 rd limit proposed by Obama will/might pass but don't bet on the Assault Weapon ban having any meaningful effect. It didn't last time under Clinton's era legislation and it lkely won't this time around either. Time works wonders on the General Public who have an attention span of a gnat,

Not true. The Republicans have a majority in the House but the Democrats have a majority in the Senate.

Doesnt seem to matter much since NY passed all this shiit at the state level. Bammy is trying to make it stick at the federal level. He wont. But the damage is done and lots of lefty pussy states will follow soon... Sad day.

FYI from WNYPPL:

Michael HardingWestern New York Practical Pistol League (WNYPPL)

Everyone is aware of the onerous NY SAFE Bill that was recently signed into law. After much deliberation WNYPPL has decided to conduct the January match as scheduled. Because of uncertainties and vagueness of the bill even law enforcement is unsure of what is legal and what is not. To ensure that our members are in compliance of the strictest interpretation we are not allowing an Open or Unlimited Class for now and the foreseeable future. You may shoot Single Stack, Revolver, Production or Limited 10 only. We are an NRA sanctioned club so you will be able to load 10 rounds in a 10 round mag at the range. Remember, if you are traveling to the club with loaded mags they may contain 7 rounds only! You may load the additional 3 rounds once you are on the range. I've received a lot of questions concerning this new law and how it will affect our club. Many members just want to sit down and talk about it. I will stay at the range after the match for any and all club members who would like to have an informal meeting. I can't speak for the rest of the board but I think that they will probably do the same.

I understand how tough it will be regarding "assault weapons" stuff. I am thinking they will try and expand the writing/wording from the Brady bill to get it done.

And the Senate are the ones that vote on laws no?
No, acts like oue Senate does sort of:

The primary role of the US Senate is to slow the process of legislation through inquiry, hearings, and debate while at the same time providing advice and consent.

The Primary role of the House of Representatives is law making much like our Parliament
