Overtime, logistics, management, additional wear and tear on people and equipment. No, they're making less profit on cranking out less widgets.

None of those mean anything when their production is in China. There will be a few US states that will tell the feds to pound it and mags and anything else will flow regardless what Bama wants.

Hysteria its not just on the anti-side you know?

I'm not in manufacturing but I find it difficult to believe they are making less profit. Despite the overtime, logistics, management, and wear and tear their cost per unit would have to decrease which translates to increased profit without raising their prices a nickel.

well, the only thingi can see different is that the tapcos cant be opened to "clean" them.

They're bulkier, heavier and pinned to 5 rounds (so realistically this translates to 4 on a closed bolt). And there's the non-maintenance aspect. Plus they probably won't due well in sub-zero or extreme temperatures. The last pair of Tapcos I had were around $30/each, so I'm not sure if they've dropped in price - but seems like kind of a premium for what you get.

You're assuming their suppliers aren't gouging them on materials. I think everyone will try to hold prices as long as they can, but inevitably you're going to see a retail price increase at some point.

mine all hold 5 on a closed bolt.

As do mine. I like them.

Bulkier? Magsun my friend come now, is that a deal breaker? $20 cheaper or less bulky? Maintenance on a plastic mag that fires on a range basis Mostly is extremely minimal. Oil her up if needs be, or grab a air line and jet that sucker out. As I would for my Pmags.

Tapco is not top of the line. That's a given. But they Perform flawlessly and for a respectable price. Tapco needs to work a little more in some of thier ideas and I am pretty sure they would keep up with Magpies magazines.

But they need to STEP AWAY from scopes.... Lol

As the title says, due to their unobtanium nature - how expensive will PMAGs get in 2013? (assuming one can find them, that is; either retail or privately on the EE)
Considering that you just sold Liembruster 2 mags for $300 I don't see why the price in Canada won't go over $100 a mag. Just glad that I got 10 of them for $17 taxes in :p

I was merely pointing out the differences. I have no idea what Tapco magazines go for these days, but I imagine they're comparable in price to PMAGs.

He bought the pair of HK416 steel/maritime magazines I had for his HK416 and HKMR223. Those were always stupid expensive ($100+).

Well Obama hasn't banned polymers...yet! :D
Suppliers would be crazy to start gouging them. The kind of clout Magpul can wield over their suppliers has increased tremendously in the past 4 weeks. No, if I was a supplier of theirs I'd know that the gravy was going to flow for a good year or more and I'd be all about maintaining that. Pigs go to slaughter.

I guess we'll wait and see what happens. Kel-Tec raised the price on the KSG by $200-$300...

Haha, not like I would buy a KSG anyways. Personally, I believe people are acting way to advantageously because of the situation at hand. Retailers are going to sit back and analyze our greed, then possibly bump up the price of PMAGs even more. So if you ask me, the people charging an arm and a leg on the EE for PMAGs are shooting us all in the foot, no pun intended.

It's not like you could probably find one, either (let alone one priced under $2k). ;) That's one way to look at it. Another is that there are still components available (albeit at higher prices). So that's not necessarily a bad thing.

If you think this sucks now - wait until everyone stops selling. Then the complaints are really going to start...
