How the heck did you remove your CZ858 Wooden stock??????

Thanks again guys. I was able to get a large chissel and get it free. I screwed up the wooden stock to hell by doing it though...patience was never my strong suit. lol
 
Bought a chisel at crappy tire. Ground the tip flat so it fit the slot of the screw perfectly.

The chisel had a hex shaft so you could put a wrench on it. Then over the wrench place a pipe (if needed) in whatever length you require to get the job done.

Mine came off easily with a 2ft pipe.
 
:bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: I just got a long, large bit screw driver. I admit its not the nicest screw but if you just put some stank on it it should come. That being said I have a terrible mindset that I will not let the machines beat me and get a little pissed off when screws are tight. It helps. Apparently I was able to take out a screw on my buddies mosin that he had super glued in. I think i sprained my wrist though.

Tire iron? 2-foot pipe? Factory must have been lazy the day they built mine. Came off easy with a large screwdriver and moderate effort (and I'm not a big guy). Now, getting the screw from the FAB stock that replaced it to start threading at the right angle....THAT took some time.
 
Ok, over the last few days I've removed 3 beaver barf stocks. I now have a system that seems to work for me.

1. Remove buttplate
2. Remove receiver cover
3. Stuff a paper towel into back of receiver
4. Liberally spray WD40 into stock. Create a pool of it around the screw. It will find it's way down to the threading.
5. Lean rifle barrel down for about 1.5 hours, or 2 beers.
6. Lay rifle on floor, straddle it, and hold it in place with your knees
7. Jam a 12 inch 3/8 screwdriver into the screw and give it a few solid whacks with a hammer
8. Put 3/8 wrench on screwdriver shank
9. Twist until prolapse is imminent, or you start seeing bright lights. Yelling while doing this step helps.
10. Revel in your triumph

Warning: Do not skip step 3. That screw has a hole in it and you will make a mess. The paper towel not only absorbs the mess, it holds the wd40 against the end of the screw and lets it soak a little. I could've probably sprayed the end of the screw, but didn't want to make a mess of my clean rifles. This was neat and tidy.

My brother and I tried to get one of these off together and couldn't budge it. I ended up doing these on my own, and aside from wait time, it took maybe 3 minutes per stock. So I think it helped.
