Opinions on powered case trimmers?

If yours are the "Trim Pro" model, then I think RCBS has 2 options for power - an adapter for use with a drill, or you can buy their power case trimmer motor ($$).

Thanks looking into that but can't find an adapter for one for sale.
Also have access to 100's of small motors at work just no idea how to put one on the trimmer ... hahaha

They wont tell me shipping costs until I place the order..... I dont want a surprise when it arrives.
That's happened to me before and eneded up paying way more than it was worth.

Found another source and ordered a few, i'm sure there are others in Canada looking for the same thing.

The WFT is the best one I have ever used. You will not regret the 69 dollars plus shipping.
 
Whoa, I'm shocked by the number of people who have the Giraud. My only problem with the Giraud is the fact I would have to shell out $1000 and it will not trim straight walled cases ( as I understand it). Same issue with the WFT. I think I'm leaning towards the RCBS with the 3 way cutter attachments. Does anyone know if the RCBS 3 way cutters can be installed on the Hornady trimmer?

Partially true and I should clarify, I shoot lots but not enough of 1 caliber that would make it worthwhile and don't want to sell any of them.
I would maye see a need for my 223 and 308 target rifles but aside form that not really.

I quite understand, really. Like you, I shoot a wide variety of calibers and cartridges -- and doing them all on a Giraud just wouldn't make sense given the investment cost vs. the number of cases I'll realistically need to trim in certain less-used calibres. Personally, I've settled on a Giraud trimmer with .22 and .30 cal cutting heads, plus cartridge adapters for any .22 or .30 cal cartridges I shoot in significant quantity. For me, that pretty much means my principal varmint and target rounds. Anything that gets loaded in lots of 1000 only gets trimmed on the Giraud :)
 
Well, my vote goes to the RCBS trimmer and a drill OR the RCBS power adapter... I dont think you can beat the unit with a 3-way cutter installed - it trims and chamfers the inside/outside all in one step. Saves a ton of time.

Agreed - best buy I've made in a while.

Going back to the OP, I used to use a powered screwdriver mounted to a Wilson case trimmer (once I decided to get away from turning the crank). It can handle different calibers if you buy the different case holders. You have to chamfer after trimming.
