best rifle for zombies

Ruger 10/22 with irons or Reflex sight.

22 lr Jacketed Hollow Point to the head is more than enough.

Think of how easy it is to manouevre a 10/22, the light weight, you could easily carry 3000 rounds in a backpack which would weigh less than 20 lbs.

Don't forget that any store that sells a bullet sells that bullet.

Very little noise, very little recoil, widely available high capacity magazines and a very reliable simple rifle.

Man, it's a no brainer! lol

Well I don't know about "no brainer". See, your first step would be to invent a "22 lr Jacketed Hollow Point" (you know...since they don't exist).

But after that you'd be golden.
 
If those were the only 3 choices. . . 858 for sure. Only because you could just drill out the mag and have 30 rounders (because in a zombie apocalypse scenario laws do not exist anymore). However if you can get your hands on one, you should pick yourself up a assault rifle super killing machine with the thing that goes up. ;)

22? Well I know who's bloodstained gear Im gonna be picking up after you all get feasted on. You folks are forgetting it takes a headshot to disable a zombie and it must pierce the braaaain. If they are shambling zombies then sure piece of cake.

If we're talking fast- 28 days later zombies(plan for the worst I say) I'm going for the cz 858 or sks with a crate of ammo + derivetted mags. Enough stopping power to slow em down 'cause good luck getting headshots on an incoming horde.

In that case, I'd be rocking the old AR15 with irons and an unpinned 30 round mag lol

Or failing that a CZ with irons and an unpinned 30 round mag.

IF they were the fast ones. If they were shamblers I'd still go with the Ruger and some 22 LR hollow points.
 
Would definately want frangible rounds.. As these are the most expensive.... The 22 is still looking good

There's some things to think about.
My sister believes in the zombie apocolypse LOL she just got her RPAL a week ago. She sent me all these king james bible references to real fricken zombies in multiple end time prophecies. Kinda crazy.... LOL

Outside of the OP"s choices, I think the AR still comes out as the best choice to invest in as a do all zombie apocolypse rifle.
- ammo is widely availlable for stock piling
-muliple caliber uppers
- if LE or MIL controlled areas or patrols are over run, parts, ammo and mags will just be laying there for the taking

easy now Francis, did ya miss the smiley? Apparently you are wound way too tight. But listen, I'm a fair guy...if I say something stupid like "22LR jacketed hollow points" or "gun that can shoot into space" or "sharks with friggin lasers on their heads" in a plausible thread like one about battle rifles suitable for "the zompocalypse", please ...feel free to say something smart a55ed of your own . I'll try and take it like a sport.

Not only have I *seen* .22LR JHP, i've loaded and fired them. So what gives?

10/22, SKS (with detachable unpinned mags of course), and somehow we have all forgotten the infamous pump action 12 ga. Non of these weapons need to break the bank and have ammo aplenty!
