I'm looking for an enfield that is non sporterized, I want it to be full wood, shoot well, I'm not too concerned about numbers matching. Is there anything else I should know? And how much should I pay?

Depending on what you want, no1mk, no4 mk1 etc

You can find no1 for 350ish unmatched, or 350 for isapore versions. 550+ for matching other markers.

You can find no4 for around 35oish for an isapore or non matching, but prices again will go up for match, unfired,

Might be an idea to check out a couple of dealers first, but Dyspnea has given you some figures....Try the collectors source or P&S militaria websites, then you can see pictures and prices for yourself..Prices can be from $350 up to $000's...Ishapore (India) made Enfields can be a good entry level rifle....Spares for most Enfields are still readily available...Let us know what your thinking of getting..

I'm looking at getting in on the low end. An Ishapore would be fine. I have a guy who wants to trade me a long branch in pieces without numbers matching for a good sks and 1937 mosin nagant. I think he's crazy.

I agree.....Take a look at the No1 MkIII Ishapore rifles at P&S Militaria....Matching bolt/receiver, V-good conditon for $350..(plus tax, shipping etc.) I bought one a year back...Very happy with it..
