Russian SKS Bayonet Trouble

Hey guys.. So I picked up a Russian SKS yesterday and when I try to open/extend the bayonet, it wont budge! I had the end submerged in mineral spirits for about an hour and it still isnt moving. Is there a secret technique to extend the bayonet? My chinese one extended without a problem. Well anyways, here are some pictures if it helps.

Submerge the whole muzzle into a container of kerosene (just buy a large container and cut the top off), ensure it's submerged deep enough cover over the bayonet handle, completely. I had a similar problem, and after a full 12 hour soak, it was looser than a dime store hooker.

If that doesn't work. I would soak it in penetrating lube for a day.
 
Alright so I'll try the Kerosene tomorrow. I contacted the dealer and they told me to bring it in if the submerging it didnt work

Dude, pull the handle part towards the blade, if it still won't move, do like buddy said before and whack it with a chunk of 2 x 4 on the barrel ring. It sould move cuz I can see cosmoline in virtually every one of the multitude of pics covering every single inch/angle of the end of your rifle, dude.:)
PS: that screw holding the bayonet to the rifle is peened with a center punch to keep the screw from moving or backing out. Unless you want to remove it completely from the rifle you should leave it alone cuz it is not the reason your bay won't flip.
 
Rusted.
Soak with Kroil oil and tap with a rubber malet towards the tip of the bayonet. THE DAY AFTER IT SOAKS.
Do it a few times then take it on and off a few times then you should be good to go.
As for removing the screw. Times the peening is done so hard that you will need a ratchet and long adaptors on it to achieve the maxium torque to be applied. Can be a real pain in the rear.

I got it working with a few whacks with a rubber mallet as it turned out that was all that was needed. And I'm sure its just the lighting and not cosmoline (I used a flashlight in the dark for a light source) since its been soaked in mineral spirits, steamed, boiled and coated in balistol. Also, the pictures are for those who asked..

Your welcome and also place a couple of drops on the rail ways found when you pull back on the part that goes over the barrel. You will notice 2 rib lines seperated by a indent. This is what I am refering to. Add some lube on both side and work the piece that goes over the barrel back and forth several times. This will ensure you that in a month or 2 time that you will be able to afix your bayonet with ease.
