I cannot locate original part for my SKS.
It's reciver cover latch with ROUND AND HOLLOW lever.
I know it seems to be easy to find replacement latch with solid square lever
but I like to keep this gun in original condition so please let me know of the source
where I can get it.

This gun is brand new,all match# # so I think it came from factory with hollow lever.
But I might be wrong...

Yes the lever with loop is the correct part. What's happened with your? That type of lever may be hard to get since was only used on 1949 and 1950 SKS. Try TradeEx or Hical. Good luck.

I forgot, if you have a late 1950, the lever can be solid square type. They changed to this design somewhere in 1950 so your lever maybe right for your SKS.

I have a 1950, unrefurbished, with a solid square latch. It's a bit bigger than the latch on my '54 Izhevsk and my No-Date Tula, as well as my two Chinese and my Yugo SKS.

They changed the design somewhere in 1950, I've seen examples of both latches on a 1950.

It was cracked at the loop when I bought it and just recently broke off completely.
I send some messages to find out if someone can help me with this.
