Does anyone have these in stock anywhere? A friend wants to own a handgun just to piss off any liberal he talks to. He has a couple kids so money is extremely tight. If I was working I would just buy him something like a Norinco and let him pay it off. But I'm not. I tried talking him into a .22LR pistol like the Norinco M93 but he wants a centerfire handgun. So I'm looking for a Hi-Point in 9mm. I'm hoping to get one cheap enough that I can just buy it for him outright.

Before anyone starts razzing on Hi-Point pistols, yes they are ugly (still look better than a Glock) but they work. Ever one I've gotten to fire (.40 S&W) was decently accurate without problems. :p

Kodiak Outpost was the dealer who had all the Hi-Point goodies, don't recall seeing other retailers selling them, shame Kodiak closed up shop.

Another readily available option for a very cheap center fire pistol is a Russian TT-33, they average $179-200+ tax and shoot dirt cheap surplus 7.62x25mm ammunition.

Yeah I was looking at others. Problem is finding that ammo can be annoying in these parts. The reason I was thinking 9mm is then he can bum ammo off me when he wants to go out. I could go the 9mm Norinco version if I buy one used at a decent price....

Check out Phrophet River Firearms above they have Hi - Points on sale. They even have the green slide models.I got one in 40 s&w a while back and am very happy with it. Hard to get xtra mags tho.

Anything Norc is better looking than hi point in my opinion and easier to resell. Here on ee you can find good deals. TT 33 is good choice. there maybe a few others.
