Do I have a problem?

I've been bored a bit lately, so have been organizing stuff in the reloading/gun room.

Moved ammo from one area/container to another, labelling ammo boxes, taking stock of components.

I have 35 different types of gunpowder (all stored correctly/legally)
10 - 12,000 primers (all types)
800 rds of 12 ga
500 rds of 20 ga
2800 rds of 7.62x39
upwards of 20,000 rounds of .22LR
over 3000 pcs of .223 brass
over 5000 .224 bullets of different types and weights.
over 2000 pcs of 7.62x51/.308 Win brass
500 brass for .300 Win mag
over 700 brass for .338 Win mag
500+ for .270 Win
3 large Rubbermaid containers of 12 ga hulls

Bullets for .308......................scared to start counting
bullets for .243.............over 2000
" for .25/06 & .257 Wby mag........1000+
" for .44 mag............2000+
" for .357 mag...........2000+
" for 7mm Mauser & 7mm/08........1000+
" for .338 win mag.............700+

My problem is that I'm gradually taking over all of the storage shelves in the basement and the wife's getting cranky that she has to store unimportant stuff (like old family photos, etc) outside in the shed. No more room for more shelves...................what do I do? (don't suggest sending bullets, brass, ammo to you bunch of smartasses, either).....................oh and by the way, I'm keeping the wife...............she buys guns for me.

Add 6.5mm, 270, 303, and 8mm bullets by several hundred each.

My gun room is also running out of space.

I didn't even list the .44 mag brass, the .357 mag brass, the small amounts of brass for other calibers (less than 300 pcs each), the shotgun wads, loaders, shot, the empty scope boxes, the factory gun boxes, the reloading equipment, gunsmithing tools, refinishing stuff, the extra rings and bases, the loading manuals, binders with range results, the stacks of targets and chrono sheets.

I think I might need to have a "yard sale for guys" in the spring.

Need and want are 2 different things. I'll stop when I go blind and can't see anymore or they are ready to sprinkle my ashes on the gun range.
About 8 years ago, I set myself a goal of starting at .22 cal and going up by 2's until I hit .50 (.22, .24, ,26, .28, etc) I'm getting there slowly. I keep getting hung up though. I have 10 rifles in .30 cal alone (I think).
 
A lot of your stuff like the bullets and the brass can be stored in the shed if you want to. Just make sure the stuff is in sealed (to the air) plastic bags.

Don't have a yard sale as sometimes the type of people who attend them you don't want knowing you have guns. A buddy of mine had a yard sale once and he was selling gun stuff. Less then a week later his house gets broken into and his truck is also stolen. The good news was that they caught the guy and the bad news was that both him and his wife remember this guy at the sale.

Better keep the ol' lady around then. Got kids that can double up in a room? Most importantly, get your priorities straight!:)
 
Nothing that an extension on the house or build a garage that has the 800+ sq. foot loft area. Then you can have your own spot with kitchen and bathroom and stuff.

That and send some of the brass and bullets for .223 my way... ;)

Our local gun club's having a swap meet in April. Trouble is that if I attend, I'll probably bring more stuff home than i take out. lol
 
I can drop by and "store" some of that for you. In fact I might even load it up and shoot it down-range for you too .................. :D;)
 
If you end up on the TV show "Hoarders" due to your reloading equipment and supplies, you might be starting o have a problem, until then, carry on!!
