OK, ok. It's old but I thought this was a really neat idea and I have never heard of it before.

I think one of my favourite parts about it is that the barrel is held in by a single screw that is rotated 180° to remove it. That and its made from pot metal and the sight flops around like a flaccid.... I'll stop there. Its just bad.

This was an interesting design that was developed during the war in Vietnam when there was a lot of money around to put into weapons development in the US. The MAC, the "Hush Puppy" and the "rocket gun" were all part of that same effort. None of them really was so much better than existing technology that they lasted beyond the development phase. Interesting, though. Dardicks appear fairly often for sale in the US, but "trounds" do not.

There was also a nylon carrier in which .38Sp. cartridges were inserted, to use in lieu of the tround cartridges.

Wish I had a gun as they are rare and I have a few rounds for different cal's. I have three .38 pistol rounds with different styles of bullets, a .38 salesmans sample round, a .38 rifle round and a.22 experimental. The Dardick rifle IIRC is beyond rare.

There is a video of a guy shooting one which was filmed not that many years ago, he shoots alot of money every time he pulls the trigger as the ammo is expensive IF you can find it.

The idea was that you could reload with no need for a press and from looking at the round it would have been very easy to do.

The Yanks are testing a FA right now that uses a polymer case that fully contains the projectile and propellant. The reduction in weight from using this case is dramatic allowing a soldier to carry more ammo.

This was ahead of its time and was a flop.

The "rocket gun". I guess that would be the Gyrojet, made by M.B. Associates?

Saw one of them once; weird gun, and even weirder concept. Among it's other flaws, it set standards for inaccuracy that will never be beaten.

Would make a really neat collectors piece though.

It's too bad.... imagine that thing with a 30 round double stacked mag..... or even just a regular 15-17 round mag
