TT-33 Muzzle velocity ?

I need some help here. When I google the subject I get mixed and inconsistent results. Can somebody in the know please explain it to me?

I've heard reports of 1700+fps from hot surplus ammo. About 1400fps from the modern stuff. I'm no expert,but I've read a lot about this round.

1450 is average. Think I saw a thread where almost every type was tested with a chrono and very little difference was seen.

Only ammo will use muzzle velocity data, not gun. The same gun use different ammo will create different muzzle velocity.

Really depends upon what you are shooting. I use MilSurp and see numbers just over 1700fps with the FMJ ammo in a Russian Tok.

Again it is not velocity decide safe or not safe to shoot. it is the chamber pressure, some will use psi and some use cup. The lighter the bullet, the higher velocity but less chamber pressure. the data can be found on ammo manufacturer website.
