Opinions on 2 rifles,Savage and Weatherby needed..

How does the new WBY vanguard S2 compare to the older Vanguard series? What changed on them? The new Van S2 in synthetic blued has 240WBY as a calibre listed. I always wanted to play with a 240. An the price is right for trying out the calibre. Thoughts??

2ND....the Savage model 25 thumbhole stock version caught my eye. I dont need another 204Ruger but ya neverknow! I dont like a det mag at all,but may settle for it as a play toy. Any one have one of these here rifles,whats the action,trigger and accuracy like? I live 2 hours from the nearest gun shop so just driving to look at one is costly..Thoughts and opinions on this rifle also..?

The series 2 has a better trigger and the bedding has been improved.

Series 2 also has a 3 position safety, I have owned both Savage and Weatherby I prefer Weatherby, you can buy a Boyds thumbhole stock for either.

I am not trying to compare the 2,just get some thoughts on each rifle alone.I have a wby van sporter,walnut stock version in .257 already. I was just wondering what the changes were in the new s2 model. Both rifles would be just play toys,gopher shooting and crap like that. Just a excuse to buy some more rifles..
