I have given up on the verifier, I was working with. I don't know if he was actual doing anything or lying to me. Anyways I took the gun to Al Simmons and they confirmed my measurements and called the CFC to find out what to do about it. I faxed in the photos and request to reclassify the gun. I still have to wait.
Taking bets now. I will probably have the answer by Monday

thank you for the images. I have just finished discussing this case with my supervisor and I do have one more image request. Due to the proximity of this barrel length to the class change value we need to be extra careful. Could you (or maybe you have to go back to Al Simmons to have this done) have another image taken.
In this image have the action open with the caliper placed against the barrel at the breech and the other end of the caliper at the muzzle. In this was we can ensure the most precise measurement of the barrel.

If its length is restricted, then its restricted. They can only skate around it so many times. If it is what it honestly is, then thats what it is......or something like that. ;-)
I had a 22 cal Beretta Model 82 with a 3" barrel. I bought a used 5" barrel from Gunparts, when they could ship up here, took the gun and long barrel to the RCMP, got it reclassified, they kept the short barrel.
Perhaps you can find a longer barrel for it if they will not reclassify it.

So they are asking you to measure it the way you show in the picture at the beginning of this thread? Trying to screw you over and make it prohib by losing out on you're headspace measurement.The rod down the barrel hitting the breachface has been the standard way of measuring since this c68 fiasco started and now they want to change it to screw you over.
Im having a pistol rebarreled right now to make it restricted instead of prohibited not a big deal just contact someone who makes things they drill out the barrel put a new barrel sleave in it and tada you got a restricted. ie new barrel.
I have had quotes of $300 to sleeve the barrel. Not really worth it for a $150 gun.
I sent them a copy of the instructions for measuring barrel length from one of there registration forms that tells you to put the rod in to the breach face.

Are they now going to re-classify everyone else's pistol from Restricted to Prohibited? IE everyone who has the same pistol classified as restricted at this time...

Actually, it is very easy to measure barrel length with a 6 inch caliper - use the depth measurement feature, and place the measuring head on the crown, then simply measure the depth with the action closed. I don't know how they can just say "no" - is a reference hearing the correct remedy?
