can anyone recommend any pistol training courses in Ontario (preferably a few hours drive from GTA); interested in improving my technique, but feel i could use instruction rather than trying to self diagnose.

thanks

I've taken 3 TDSA courses so far at Silverdale Gun Glub, just over an hour outside Toronto (Smithville, Ontario). Excellent courses in my opinion.

You'd probably want to start with Advanced Pistol 1.

Shooting courses are terrific value for the money you spend - it's much cheaper to take a course and learn how to do something than it is to plug thousands of rounds down range in the hope that you will improve. Additionally, it's great to spend time at the range with a bunch of like minded people, shooting and having fun.

I have taken a couple of classes at Milcun / Operational Shooting Association and enjoyed every minute of it. Linda and Keith have a wealth of knowedge and experience and do an excellent job of passing that along to their students. I'm hoping that I'll be home from Alberta so that i'm able to get signed up for the pistol course this year April 13th.

try a black badge course with Alex - you really cant go wrong with the open champ teaching you technique, form, and movement over 2 days. as bonus you get to join IPSC and have tons more fun :)

EDIT:

I can't seem to find where I found those courses I was talking about.

I feel like a prat.
My bad

Looking forward to taking some training.

Quote; "I was looking at Phase Green courses and they say they only do Deescalation training for civilians, I want firearms training."

Earl can teach you how to de-escalate things - very quickly.

Lol With a big enough hammer everything gets De-escalated nice and quick.

Preferably with 220 grains of love traveling at 950 fps Lol
