Well, I've just finished decosmolining my latest unissued SKS and I didn't do all that work to not share it!

From the left:

#1 - Freshly decosmolined 1954 Tula in original finish. Perfect and smooth coat of shellac on this one from the factory! Must have been just after vodka break. Looks unissued.

#2 - Also a 1954 Tula. This is the one I posted another thread about. Refinished with Varathane Cabernet stain and Minwax Tung Oil Finish. I went for an original look, in a more durable finish. Appears unissued. No refurb marks and no signs of use.

#3 - Chinese SKS. Fully stripped down and refinished with Minwax "Gunstock" stain and Polyurethane varnish. Unissued.

#4 - 1954 Tula. Bubba special! Choate Dragunov stock, XCR 10 round pistol magazine. This was a refurb to begin with. Old stock was stripped and refinished in shellac, in case I ever want to put it back on.

I am officially sick of Cosmoline. If I buy another, I think I'll look for a Chinese Factory 26 or something like that (and keep it original). That'll be the last one (yeah right, I need a Russian Laminate too, obviously).

Only 4? Sks are like your wife's shoes. You can't have enough, ever

Other than the Mosin Nagant type of rifle, one of the last milsurps that has a wide range of variations and is still very affordable whether you buy one or want to collect them.

I know it is common to hear that there are so many and that they are expendable shooters, but they said that about the Enfield too. One day....

Pardon me but whay does one of these rifle's have a funny looking magazine?

As per the OP, its an XCR pistol mag. Looks like he has modded the rifle to take a pistol mag.

That is correct. However, I decided I prefer the look of wood so I converted it back to original configuration last night (and the original magazine).

Here they are again,in a different order. The one on the left is the one that had the plastic stock. It's my shooter. The rest are unfired.

On the right of the photo you can see a little bit of my garbage can de-cosmoliner. It's a garbage can with a hotplate in it and a thermometer in the lid.
