I'm looking to get my hands on a conversion kit for my Rem 700 SPS Varmint in .223. Currently it's bedded in an HS Precision stock if that's important. Im just wondering where I can find them and any thoughts on the kits.

Thanks guys

HS Precision makes one - pretty pricey though. As well, AICS makes a 223 magazine right now but you will need to get a bottom metal that supports AICS mags (VBull, ATRS, etc). This option is also quite pricey. Pricey in both cases means >$250-300. I like the HS Precision system as you can have both 5 and 10 round mags whereas AICS only has 10 rounders right now.

Resurrect an old thread...

I have a Rem 700 XCR TLR in .223 that I'm thinking about changing to removable magazine. What Canadian dealers carry any of the conversion kits?

Check out Alberta Tactical Rifle, Mystic Precision, and maybe Wolverine. If you are interested there is an Australian company at atlasworxs.com that makes them and will ship to Canada for about $160. They accept the AI mags.
FYI you will need to find someway, likely a gunsmith, to inlet your stock to accept the magazine kit. Total you are probably looking at about $550+ for a properly installed kit.

I just put an Atlas in my rifle. Excellent quality, and a LOT less money than many comparable kits. A 'smith should install it for less than $100, so you're looking at $260 or less, all in, if you went with that BM.

^ Yup.

The beauty of Atlas, is that they can ship directly from Australia right to your doorstep, unlike all the US manufacturers that are restricted by the ridiculous ITAR regulations. Because of the export restrictions, the price of all the US BM kits is quite high by the time they land at the retailers here in Canada.
