I have a remington 7400 that I've had for many years and it has a terrible trigger with too much play prior to firing. In your oppinion what rifle has the best trigger group in a gun under $1000?

Thanks.

The Remington pump and semi auto triggers can be reworked by most gunsmiths to be much better... crisper and lighter.

#1 - Kimber
#2 - Tikka

The Kimber is a little over $1000, and the Tikka is just under. The Kimber trigger is better than the Timney and Shilen triggers that I own...

You can also install Timney's trigger fix (available at Brownell's; search for 870 trigger fix), we installed it on a 7600 and it does wonders!

Hahahahahahahaha That was funny.... Accutrigger is the worste P.O.S on the planet... everyone I know that owns a Savage has a Rifle Basix trigger in it....

I don't agree with Dilligaf.

The Vanguard S2 is nice for the money.

No one mentioned the Winchester Model 70 with the new MOA trigger. When they say zero creep, breaks cleanly, with zero over travel, well...they mean just that. Previous iterations of the 70, however, will not accept the new MOA trigger unfortunately.
