My finished 870/grizzly mag tactical build and duracoat project..thoughts? *Update*

so is duracoat more durable than original finish? that would look awesome with a 12.5" barrel

Duracoat is way better! The finish on both the grizzly and remington comes off with ease cause its cheap! Leave your shotgun outside for one night and see the amount of rust on it in the morning. Duracoat is also a rust proofing paint and it looks better and feels better and doesn't wear really unless you drop it down a Rocky Mountain.

To op nah I tried using the long screw that came with the s2ar and it just didn't thread right with the receiver stud. You probably got lucky and got a non metric grizzly. I'm gonna look someone can re thread that receiver stud for me. Thanks

I guess I just got lucky lol I usually have good luck that follows me everywhere

OP, did you do anything else to prep the metal other than the tru strip? Where did you get the tru strip? Does the duracoat air cure or is baking it a must? I a planning on coating mine as well but want to make sure I do it right the first time.

Cheers.

I used tru strip and a maroon scotch brite pad from LCW which is what they recommend and that with scratch it enough for a good solid bond. You do not bake it it air dries. 20 min and its dry to the touch, in one hour you can handle the parts and in 24 hours the gun is ready to be re-assembled and can be used like it should be. 3-4 weeks and its at its full cure potential if you plan on submerging it or dropping it off a rocky cliff lol...as long as you degrease it and use the 3.00 maroon scotch bright pad you'll do just fine. I am going to duracoat every firearm I own after using it and seeing the overall finish I am more than impressed

Nobody in Canada has this?

Not that I could find and I looked online for hours. I just shipped it to CBI in Niagara Falls USA and picked it up there. It's like 10 min from the Lewiston border. They ship to canada also tho but I always ship stuff there for multiple USA orders like brownells or amazon orders. No tax no duty and cheap cheap shipping rates
