So I ordered a Stag 3L for my son (he's a southpaw). Being that he's 5 years old and can shred pop cans with a 22lr I figured he could really make some Libs and Dippers cry with his own AR. I think I'll give it to him at the end of the school year as a present...when he finishes kindergarden.

Its a 3L, L being Left handed, and it has the following added Troy flip up front and rear sights, C79A1 and Raptor Charging handle. :ninja:

I can't really comment on how it shoots or handles as its not been fired yet but fit and finish seems like every other quality AR.

Southpaw Mil/LEO's are issued this rifle.

The ejection door does hit the front knob on the elcan but it doesn't get struck with dummy rounds.

I'm sure he'll like it. :ar15:

I was not aware any agency users issued left-handed ARs (?). the Right-handed A2 (and later) uppers have a shell deflector to make them southpaw friendly so it's not that critical.

Nice rifle - I'm sure he'll love it.

Built one of my uppers with all Stag lefty components, and I love it! I find I inhale less residue and have less of a headache after shooting my lefty AR compared to any of my righty guns. I have a righty SBR too, but only built it as a righty because I couldn't source a lefty STAG upper and BCG in time. If I find those later, I'll probably take it apart and sell the righty stuff.

I like the AR10 lower in the background!!

That 3L looks good. I like the free float handguard.

I bought a SA 8, around nov of last year from Lanz Shooting (Silverdale) and I'm glad I did. With what's going on now down there with the proposed AWB, most companies cannot keep up with the demand.

To the OP...lucky kid! Can't wait to see/hear what he gets when he passes grade 8.

They don't...
He's special :D

Fireball, my sympathies on hearing the horrible news about your son. Living with south paw syndrome is no laughing matter. Have you ever tried to FORCE him to use his right hand all the time, and tell him how evil the left hand is?

haha, jk. Your son is gonna love it. Awesome job for getting him into the sport. Damnit, I had my first AR at 20. he's got 15 years on me!
