I have one. I take it camping and scouting and I love it!! . I have not been able to find out if the barrel can be swaped. Maybe ask if you can try it on a shotgun off the rack at the store.

The SPX Defender will take other barrels. There is actually a combo version that comes with the 18" barrel as well as a 28" with 3 choke tubes. The combo doesn't have the Defender fore end though; it has the standard black synthetic SPX one instead.

Amazing gun for the price. IMO the best value going in a defensive shotgun.

i tried one. The self pumping action is very encouraging! The fastest pump ever!

They are hard to find right now. The camp/field combo is what you would be looking for. I'm on a waiting list that is minimum 1 month through my local store, right now.

I have one aswell and its by far my favorite shotgun, i wanted the ability to have a longer barrel, winchester has a big list of barrels on their site, i ordered a 28" for my defender for $150... Swaps right over
