Any range I have ever been at provides the backstop and the shooters bring their own targets... Handgunners and rimfire shooters are usually riding the same cart to the short range.

Yeah that! The anual fee is enough without a ridiculous daily fee.... OP find a new range and forget about the restricted rifle.

Well it's one of the cheapest range around, there's one cheaper but it's a 100km more for the trip.

It makes absolutely no sense, at all!

So I can have an AR shooting .223 and pay nothing, but if I have a Non Restricted .22 lr I have to pay $20?

Please let us know which club you are talking about so I can email them and let them know they are a bunch of retards........
 
The Jager AP74. M16 look-alike sold in the 80's. I used to own one until not too long ago when I discovered that it had been classified restricted, and in a panic I stripped it down, sold the parts and chopped the upper. One of the more absurd results of the liberal gun laws of the 90's, apart from classifying the AP80 as prohibited. Like the AP80, merely looked like its evil baby-killing counterpart and shared absolutely no other operational characteristics.

The club name is the ruisseau noir near montreal : if you want to shoot a restricted firearm it's 290$ per year and if you want to fire an unrestricted firearm it's 20$ per rifle per day. So if you go to the range every week and fire 3 non restricted firearms it's 60$ per week, plus the range yearly membership.

For all the research I did, it's the cheapest place around, other place are 25$ per rifle per day.

There's one in montreal with a membership of 650$ per year which include unlimited rifle but they only have 50 yards targets for the rifles.

I sure hope you are just confused on the rules, because that is the single dumbest thing I have heard in the firearms game since I got into it, and that includes the FA, and the many retarded news articles, and politicians statements!!!

Shingo, RN is unlimited for pistol (not rifle), even if you take your ar you still pay but $15 not $20. IF your not a member its $20 per rifle.

Its expensive, i am also member of the other club (crafm i assume) and its 389.99$+tx

Unfortunatly the area we live is is a tad expensive when it comes to shooting sports, so even if you buy a res rimfire your still going to be charged.

Our annual family rate (for 3 or more members of one family) of $240 with NO daily fees is sounding really good right now! I feel bad for you Quebec shooter's but respect your commitment... in my mind your "liberally-slurred" provincial politics are trying to discourage gun ownership and usage... unfortunately some in Quebec think all gun owners are Lepine's

And, I still think that a daily fee per rifle is assinine.

I knew something had to be wrong about the OP's explanation. The way he had the rules laid out they were just too dumb to believe.

Makes slightly more sense now, but still silly.

It should be determined by calibre, not type of gun.

Is there a "No Magnum" cartridge rule in effect as well? I would think a .357 magnum, hell even a 9mm is doing more damage to the backstop than a .22 lr rifle, restricted or not.

Still full of fail regardless.......

I think he meant Non-restricted(legal to use without having to be at an approved range), and he could have added the Mossberg 715T.

RN back stops are just dirt. The pricing is crazy but its like this in QC, everyone wants to take a chunk out of shooting sports folk.
 
Hard to explain Quebec.If you have $10 somebody wants $9 of it. The local club here used to even give out ammo but stopped doing that. What drives me crazy is the RO rule. No RO no shooting allowed. That and it being against the law to look down a gun barrel.
