I am really impressed after day at the range with it. Such a nice balanced and accurate machine, not to mention it looks great! Descent group at 10 yards I believe. Those loads were HOT!

It isn't my Colt Python but it does seem to be a decent item.

Ive owned a gp100, a 586, a secutrity 6 and a python. As far as I am concerned the gp100 tops them all for relyability, accuracy, balance and strength good choice

Please do yourself a favor and bring your left thumb behind the front of the cylinder, that is unless you want your thumb to go missing.
The proper way to hold a revolver is left thumb on right thumb, and #### the hammer with left thumb.
Be safe.

Thanks, I know. Switching from Glock at the range

I agree on it the best bang for the buck.
A blued GP100 6" in the early 90's was the first restricted I ever bought.

Now if they made a 45acp and/or 45LC using the same frame we would have one sweet revolver. The Redhawk is way to big to use for the two cartridges IMHO. I love my GP-100. Very accurate and dependable.

Take Care

I've got one in SS and 6" and it is by far the most accurate handgun I own. I often wondered about selling it and getting a 686 but I have since abandoned that idea. I like it too much.

I'm glad you decided not to do that - you would have regretted it.

I've had my 4.2 SS GP100 for awhile and I couldn't ask for a better shooting revolver, but I did. When I saw the S&W Performance Center R8 I thought that a factory custom .357 that held 8 rounds would the best revolver ever made, so I spent the roughly $1500 to get one. It did shoot good (not to mention what a beautiful gun) but at about the same time I got a $9 spring kit from Wilson Comabt for my GP100 so I stripped it down and swapped out the springs - what a difference.

Now my $650 GP100 with a $9 spring kit was shooting smoother than my $1500 Performance Center S&W, so I sold the S&W. And I apologized to my GP100 for ever doubting him.

I got my GP100 SS 6" over twenty years ago.

These pistols are extremely strong, well made, easy to strip down and very accurate.

Mine is still in as new condition, tight and with perfect lock up (I have absolutely no idea how many rounds went through this pistol).

Would never sell this one.

What!?!? If you want to shoot a revolver in single action then get a SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER!!! Double action revolvers should be shot DOUBLE ACTION!!!!
