Tokarev TT-33 ordered from Kelly's Sporting Goods

The CFO rep asked why I was buying them and how I was storing them (my collection of restricted's is quite large and I don't have any TT's).
My response:
-They haven't been on the market for a few years and have gone up in price. I plan on target shooting with them and using them for the youth program I'm coordinating as the ammo is cheaper (not sure if the recoil is too snappy yet).
-In a locked room I built, with a locked closet, in a Stack-On safe
I was polite and respectful and he approved the transfer.
Still a bit unnerving.

I only ordered 2 but was thinking of another one! No call yet!
I suppose they may wonder, if you order 10 or 20,,,or a crate! I think if I had the money i would have ordered a crate,,at a good rate of course!
Can the cfo do anything about that??

Home3, it sounds as if you are implying that we purposely sent out a product looking like that? We do a visual inspection of the outside, make sure they're in working order, wipe them down and ship them. We don't check the bore of each one. We wouldn't accept that either, that's why we have offered on here to replace it if it is one that came from us. (we'd contact him ourselves if we knew who "futz" is) But as of now, we have yet to hear anything from "futz". Futz needs to contact us if it is an item we sold, which we will confirm with the barrel serial number. After that, the firearm can be returned for a replacement one. It's that simple.
I have no doubt that it was not intentional and this was the result of an error in your inspection process. That inspection process was what I was criticizing. I should have made it more clear and I apologize for not doing that.
For the record, I purchase one of these guns and I am very happy with your business.
Now, when are you going to receive your next shipment of Ruger GP100s?

I just spoke to Wes at Kelly's. About 65 pistols left. They have sold 300+ and have only had to pull about 15 that were not pretty enough to sell on-line. The marked up ones are available to purchase at the store.
He is obviously proud of his store and concerned that the "bad barrel" got displayed on Gun Nutz before he had a chance to replace it. he has not heard from Futz and is beginning to wonder if the gun came from Kelly's. There are several other dealers selling them.
They have a range at the store and he tells me that the ones shot there all seem to shoot quite well. The one I tried last week shot much better than the other Toks I own. I am looking forward to the one I ordered.
Wes tells me that the Ontario CFO approves his sales in about 2 days. That is good service.

I think the Ontario CFO is slowing down... I purchased a TT-33 from Kelly's on Jan 29th. A week and a half of working days for the CFO to approve an ATT. Still hasn't been issued by the CFO yet.

I can't find any post in this thread that claims so, but to clear things up, Soviet small arms Factory 11 (where these Tokarev pistols were made) is currently known as Łucznik Arms Factory. It was also known as Fabryka Broni Radom (Weapons Factory Radom) before the second world war. Radom is the name of the town that hosts the factory.

Well, I also succumbed to peer pressure today, and after thinking I would not buy one, I ordered one up. Now to find some ammo...

One of my pals bought a triple set of Norc Woodsman pistol clones and ended up getting the same kind of phone call.
I don't want to alarm you, but he did end up getting a notification of intent to inspect his collection/storage situation. The rep from the CFO showed up with two RCMP in a patrol car, and two more plainclothes cars set up at 'escape routes'.
After all was said and done, a mutual acquaintance overheard the officers debriefing at a nearby gas station
"We made a big mistake" was overheard.
Some time later an actual bust was made in a nearby city where some cats were alegedly running guns.

In other news, I can't wait to get home from this hitch and pick up my new Kelly Tok from the post office. The anticipation is almost killing me ^_^

Sigh, that's what I'm worried about - I also picked up 3 M93's as well. Was that in Alberta or Sask?
Was at the range last night shooting a friends TT-33 with mil surp ammo. It's just plain wrong that I can shoot this cheap pistol and this cheap ammo better than any of my other's, including 3 9mm's and 2 S&W revolvers. I'm talking 4-5" 8 round groups offhand at 25 meters vs my usual 10-12" at this distance. Fresh out of the box, degreased and oiled, sights were bang on for me, good trigger, flawless function easy take down. Cheap to shoot and a ton of fun, I fear there is one in my future!
I have a number of pistols plus one SMG in 7.62x25, so decided to buy another case of ammo. Marstar is selling a case of Sellier & Bellot milsurp. 2280 rounds to the case.
It arrived today. I was surprised to see that the case was a mixture of two different kinds of ammo. The brown boxes were steel cases with steel core bullets. The white boxes are brass cases and lead core bullets. That is, the case is a combination of indoor and outdoor ammo. Bonus!
If you shoot in a range with a steel backstop, you need lead core ammo. The steel core will pockmark the backstop.
I transferred the ammo to a pair of steel ammo cans. My case of ammo yielded about 60% lead core ammo.
I already had a couple cases of lead core ammo, and actually ordered the Marstar ammo so I would not have to waste my lead core ammo when shooting outside.
