Thanks for sharing. I am not sure at this stage why they would make this in 28ga?? Some ugly to me :)

Why is it restricted with that 18.5" barrel and fixed stock??

I may have jumped to conclusions on this one...the .410/.45 Colt version is restricted for sure. I was told because it has a revolving action it is considered a handgun by our law makers and therefore restricted...another source told me it was because the barrel was rifled and about 1mm too short (which doesn't make sense because it isn't a semi-auto)...so who knows for sure what the real reason is. Maybe this one will be ok because it is a shotgun? Maybe not because of the action type?

rifling has nothing to do with it they say it uses the same frame as the normal judge you are in canada where you can have a smooth bore handgun in 12ga if you wanted
this will most likely be restricted too here because it uses the same frame as the 28ga judge handgun that was never marketed

i wanted the .410 smooth bored one when they first came out(make a good little hunting gun) and then seen they where deemed restricted

I still say it should not be restricted it has a factory 18 1/2" barrel, a fixed stock and look like it is over the minimum overall length.
I'll ask my CFO tomorrow. No reason on earth to restrict it, revolver action or not.

the first version was rectricted because it used a handgun frame .

there are lots of threads in the past dealing with this .....

if the 28 gauge had to use a different frame , it might actually be a nonrestricted .

It is a handgun plain and simple.

Just like adding a stock, and a long barrel to a glock, or 1911 doesn't make it non restricted, neither does it work here.

Pretty simple stuff.......

Now if this gun does use a completely different frame, that is not marketed anywhere as a handgun, then there is a chance it could be made NR.

That said this is the RCMP we are talking about, and they look for any excuse they can to make it restricted so I wouldn't bet on it.

Just wondering of the fact it is a gauge not a caliper would that make a difference. Unlike the 410.
She would be some hand gun if one considers a 28ga chamber is 0.626 inches rear and 0.614 front with a .550 bore

problem is they made a 28ga handgun its was not approved by the ATF no doubt this is the same frame

So why arent 10/22s restricted, isnt there a Charger pistol?

These things would require no less hacksaw fackery then any other long gun to shorten it up to restricted size.

Really wanted one in 410 but 28 would be cool too but had to settle on the lever, no rifling and no 45 colt.
Man at the counter crushed my dreams but i couldnt manage to leave empty handed.

Anyway these could be re evaluated? There are some large differences from the pistol version, forgrip, theres a thing to shield your hand from spray out the side of the cylinder. I think its that feature alone that makes a revolving carbine even possible. Now is the frame even the same? Any pics of a buttstock removed? Could one simply bolt on a pistol grip?

Maybe rossi should of named it different and it might be NR. To small of a market and to weird of a gun to expect any help from them.

All this reasoning, and questions isn't gonna get you anywhere.

The RCMP have made the determination already, and the only way to get that reversed is a court challenge, which even if won, would be appealed.

Our country is run by tyrants not in government, but in the beurocracy that runs this country.

Nothing good for us will come until this is changed, but even the CPC is not gonna help us on that one.

Bottom line is our hobby is doomed without major political activism, and right now we don't have that.

The CSSA and NFA just aren't enough, at least not as 2 separate entities.
