I was wondering how it would work on a 6.5 x 55?

if the brake said it for 308, it will still work for 6.5X55mm , there is no problem there.

Not a problem. I didn't know if it was just a spelling error or if you didn't know it was brake. I remember brake as in it puts the brakes to recoil.

The .22 would not work and the .30 cal would have too much clearance for a 6.5 bullet and would not be as effective as a correct 6.5 brake. Brakes work most efficiently and accurately when the bullet has 20 thou clearance and the brake is perfectly concentric with the bore.

I have not held one in hand and measured to see... it would depend on how much material is in the middle when you open the hole from .244" to .284". If you were to contact the manufacturer I am sure they could answer the question.

The other thing I see with this brake is it expels gas forward. I have brakes that expel gas sideways and/or angled backwards.
I'm at a loss how a brake that expels gas forward reduces felt recoil.
Someone explain that theory to me.

I can't... but there are a lot of brakes on the market made for the "look". Most an ugly look...

The linear compensators only push sound and concussion downrange, they dont reduce recoil at all (I've tried a few before on AR's) theoretically the 7.62x39 one should work as long as you get the correct thread pitch, but all it will do is push the noise downrange.
