Best gun oil for semiauto shotgun?

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't find any posts using the search function. So Im wondering if someone can give me a link to a past thread or answer my question.

What is the best gun oil for a Winchester sx3? I'm currently using Hoppes #9 but the bottle is empty. So I'm looking for another gun oil. I thought Hoppes worked good but seems non viscous in the cold weather shoots. I have heard good things about rem oil with Teflon from other members at the skeet range say it performs well in the cold. I have also found rem oil is readily available in my area of town. So I'm leaning towards buying rem oil and giving it a try. My concern is the oil working well in the cold say -16. I clean my sx3 after 150-200 rounds of 1oz target loads.
So any thoughts, tips or links would be appreciated
 
Only oil I use is G96 . its good to like -50 .biggest thing is do not over oil the action you only need very little on the bolt rails and the outside of the mag tube.

My local gun shop sells G96 and the guy I talked to says he loves it. He uses it on his auto loader however I'm skeptical on a "all In one cleaner and lubricant". I'm sure it works fine and wolud consider using it. Thanks for the tip
 
I've started using Hoppe's Dry Lube. This is pretty much white graphite that acts as a dry lubricant. It is extensively used in locks, enclosed bearings, and a lot in space applications because it withstands heat, cold and all sorts of conditions. Also, unlike oil and grease, it does not attract dirt and doesn't act as abrasive material.

Try it and you'll love it! It doesn't freeze, it's not sticky and works in all possible conditions on this planet and in space as well.
 
My second choice after Hoppe's Dry Lube would be G96 3 in 1, which cleans, oils and protects.

Gunzilla for everything on everything

Doesn't smell, doesn't stain iffin you hit whatever it got on with soap and water, and is all biodegradeable.
 
The only oil to use is Ballistol. Use it on metal wood and leather etc. Non Toxic and smells a lot better than Hoppes. Will not GUM UP the action and provides superior protection from the harmful elements. It works as a CLP
 
Synthetic motor oil. 1 litre is a lifetime supply for much less than the equivalent volume of gun oil. Save your old Hoppe's oil bottle for convenient application.

A piss poor one and not what one would want on their firearms. Any gun oil is better.
WD40
50% mineral spirits/naptha
25% CO2 as propellant
15% mineral oil (light lubricant capabilities)
10% aromatics & inert materials

As many gunsmiths will say WD40

It does turn into a to gummy residue
It will damage some plastics
It does not provide adequate lubrication
It does not provide long term rust or corrosion prevention
It can deactivate primers
It does attract dirt
It is flamable

On my semi's G96, stag blue syn, browning or rem oil have all worked fine.
 
I shoot mine dry in the winter or real cold. Never had a malfunction. Pretty sure even the new Versamax I have states to shoot dry in extreme cold.

If needed I Use Lucas oil gun oil. Red lube dab it on rails/bolt and rub in with a cotton patch. You do not need much.
