Trouble with Norinco .556 ammo with AR but not with Swiss Arms Classic Green

How many shoot Norinco for plinking and have trouble with it jamming FTF and FTE in the AR platform?
My Christensen Arms CA 15 will shoot Federal 223 without a problem, any Norinco causes problems every second shot.
On the other hand my Swiss Arms classic green will pump Norinco with zero problems endlessly. Anyone have any similar experiences?

My Mini 14 feeds them no problem. I do however, notice that they are relatively cold rounds though, since they have a different point of impact and the action doesn't throw the cases as far as it does other brands like American Eagle.

The norinco is much hotter than American eagle. The AR223 struggled to approach 3000fps while the norinco was close to 3200 out of an 18" barrel. I spent an entire day comparing the two with the norc coming out as the clear winner in a number of respects. Your results with your rifle may vary of course...

Could be a mag issue. I know when I put the mic on these I was surprised that the Norinco was 2 thou longer than the AE and that difference was enough to cause me a bit of grief depending on the mag used.

ive knocked about 200 norc down range out of 3 different ar15's.
one of them was a norc ar(not mine) and i think we only put about 20 down it but no issues, other 2 were NEA uppers.

My swiss also feeds the norc without issue. ammo QC has been questionable at best

The norinco has a longer OAL than the federal, this could have soemthing to do with your feeding issues

That's your problem. 556 amd .223 rounds are not interchangeable. It's generally considered acceptable to shoot. 223 from 5.56 chambered rifles, but shooting 5.56 from .223 chambered rifles can lead to excessive pressures.

Only shot a few out of an M15A4 and an XCR, no probs, but then again they're both 5.56 chambered.

I had 2 light primer strikes on 2 bullets out of 100 from an ar15.

The Norc .223 is fairly lightly loaded. Works in most of my guns just fine, one or two don't like the stuff though.

Fine by me, the price was right.

Compared Norinco bulk ammo to American Eagle 55gr FMJ and Hornady 55gr TAP if you must ask. ^

I hope they didn't come in spam, that would gum up your rifle.

But on a more serious note, I wonder if there's a difference between the spam cans and yellow boxes? Different factory? Year of production? etc?
