I've heard agruments that its two crossed mosin nagant rifles, but most regard it as an X.

I've not seen any that look like crossed rifles. Maybe I've not looked at a nice enough RC, but I've looked at plenty.

Can someone post pics of one, where the crossed rifle stamp is clear enough to be seen?

The "X" I had on a bcd 1944 was poorly struck, something I've heard about on other marked Russian captures. It would be nice to see what it should look like.

Here is a close up of the X on my RC. I can see no resemblance to a pair of crossed rifles in mine. Personally I think it is just an X, but I'd love to see a RC K98k with a definite crossed rifles stamp to prove me wrong. Maybe someone has one in this new batch that just came in.

Obviously there were different stamps used. Some X's cross perpendicular such is the case of jbmauser's and some cross at more of an acute angle, taller than they are wide. Possibly some stamps were crossed rifles and some were just an x?

That is definitely a possibility. Hopefully some more people most pics of their RC X's.

Ok. I found this pic online and it is a different variation of the X. This one appears to have some resemblance to two crossed rifles. Notice how the bottoms of the X are thicker. Possibly these are the buttstocks of the rifles? Pretty hard to tell from this pic.
