Hi guys,

I'm looking at buying a Nikon P22 2-7x32 rimfire scope from optics planet.com. Has anyone ever used this company before and if so how much extra is shipping, duty, brokeage fees, etc for shipping in Canada?
Did anybody had any problems with customs or other?
Thank you!

they will not ship scopes to canada................even if you ask nicely.........the answer is no....
that said........I order from them all the time, they ship usps and if items are in stock my orders are shipped within a day or two of being placed.

I have found Optics Planet extremely good to deal with and have bought optics and camera accessories from them.

They will always try to get things to you but rifle scopes are a no go due to US export restrictions. Not their choice.

Did you order any scopes recently that were shipped?
Thanks

never tried to order a scope from them, says right on the item description the restrictions may apply. They wouldn't even send me blizzard caps.......yet gas checks were okay to ship........go figure

Because scopes are a listed component, they have to get an individual export license for each order, plus they have to pay a fee for each export licence.

This in on top of the annual permit, which is on the order of $2750. So they need to recover costs for their annual permit, the individual licence fee, plus the time to do the paperwork. Some companies just don't want the hassle.

Just confirmed :( I placed order and got mail saying they will not ship to Canada due to US laws. They canceled order without charging my visa. Well it was worth of trying.
Thank you all for posting, cheers!

Has nothing to do with a scope being over 100.oo...........maybe do some reading, get yourself eduacated before misleading people with opinions and or your own misleadings...........

You don't have to be a ####about it.
A simple correction would suffice. I have actually fully read the Consolidated ITAR document. Have you? It was a momentary lapse.

ITAR actually says "optics manufactured to military specifications" but in reality all are considered to fall under ITAR and don't fall under the exemption.

Don't let it git to you ;) There are so many here that are obviously lacking social skills in their responses :) Time to put away the playstation, get out and learn to be nice and tolerant.. learn how converse again.

Was just having a bad day. I do more research than the vast majority of members here, and have gone though these processes before, so it just just go to me. I've even spoken and emailed the DDTC (Directorate of Defense Trade Controls) Response Team about issues.

What's a playstation? Something like an Etch-A-Sketch? ;)

Someone wanna tell me why they call themselves Optics Planet.ca advertise rifle scopes and then not be able to sell you one. F##k, if its originating from the US just damn well call yourself #####.com and leave it at that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4Scopes is a seekrit hide away.
I ordered a Zeiss a few hours, maybe a day before a fellow Gummutzs
and he got his before me.
Fed Ex was his delivery and mine should be here early this week.
The tracking shows USPS is the method they used for me.
Last scope that came up for me was sans $$ a la carte.
Definitely a go to place.
