Optic? For a Tikka T3 Varmint Stainless

Hi,

Suggestion for rifle scope on Tikka T3 Varmint in 7mm Rem Mag ?

I hunt varmint, moose, deer, bear ... And I shoot at the bench sometimes... 60% bench / 40% hunting

I looked Bushnell 6500 Elite 4.5x-30x-50mm and 2.5x-16x-42mm and it looks good...

I look for a black scope..

What caliber? What ranges do you expect to be shooting at? Do you want to match the stainless barrel/action or the stock... Black or silver scope or either???
 
For a Tikka? I had a great time with my Vortex 2.5-10X44

Well for that gun and shooting paper 60% of the time, you will want a minimum of 14X... the Busnell 6500 in 2.5-16X is a good scope, but if you are prepared to shell out $800+ dollars there are better scopes in my mind... Look at the Leupold VX-3 4.5-14X scopes here;

You can spend less if you want a get a quality scope... the Minox ZA5 series has a really nice 3-15X42 or 50mm for $500 or so;

The Weaver Grand Slam is a nice scope, I have a couple of the 6-20X and I am very happy with the clarity and precision all for $569;

I have a bunch of Leupold VX-II scopes... they are quite a bit less money than what you have been considering, but I am very happy with them and have never had a problem with one. And for ALOT less the Hawke Varmint SF ($200 ish) are great scopes for the money...
 
My tikka varmint has a Nikon monarch 4-16 it's a 204, My sako 7mm wears a 4-16 schmidt and Bender, the Kleingunther k14 7mm boasts a period Bushnell scopechief 3-9 that needs to be replaced I think(reticle issues), they all get get shot out to 500 yards it's easier with more magnification but beware of the shakes.
Whilst in the states last week I saw a cabelas own brand 6-18 scope made by Meopta, a very reputable euro scope maker.Not sure if sell them here but for $500 buck it was a good deal.
I think bushnell and nikon are hard to beat for value, especially if you can get them on sale.
 
Checked out a Tikka T3 Tactical at the Toronto Sportsman Show this weekend. The distributor had it matched with a Burris MTAC 4.5-14x42. Fit well and came up to the eye nicely
 
I just bought a Tikka T3 HB stainless .223.I ordered but have not received a Leupold 4.5-14x40 in Silver with a Varmint reticle should be good.Also bought both these items from sponsors on this web site.Good luck on your choice.
