New Sage EBR stock

Those are beauty rifles sir. But everyone knows the combined weight of two M14s and their chassises will pull you straight down into the center of the earth!

Yeah - they've allowed me to cancel my gym membership, but I'm still able to answer 'do you even lift?' in the affirmative thanks to them.

Not true TV. Here's my Blackfeather "RS" weigh-in. The balance with an 18.5" barrel is superb.

^^ Agreed. I am so sick of hearing from this guy. This thread is about the Sage EBR. Every god damn thread I go into he pops up, seemingly regardless of the topic.
I'm never doing business with him period now.

I agree!

M14.ca why not just take a back seat and let your product speak for itself... or better yet, let your customers do the talking for you. It becomes annoying seeing your defensive or advertisment posts in almost every thread I read. pop ups will be next i imagine.

I can see it now.. click on an m14 thread and a big blackfeather popup takes over the screen.

I think I've found them here and here at Brownells...

I've had no luck sourcing them in-country, if someone has please let us know!

It works out to about $4 for the set, so I ordered a dozen - unless I butcher 8 of them I should have some spares when I'm done. :)

Did the parts you order end up working out ok for you? I am looking at ordering for my EBR, so any feedback would be great.

Cheers!

Good timing!

The parts showed today, and appear to be right. But I won't have a chance to try anything until mid next week at the earliest. I'll post once I've had at 'er.

I have posted here to provide one useful comment to the OP and one quib to TVPressPass. Have a good evening.

With continuing respect to the OP: "Norinco M14 with normal length barrel or shorty? What are the advantages of each?" My opinion is to buy a 22" barrel and have it cut, crowned and threaded 1/2x28tpi by Dlask Arms. This way, you'll be able to place various after market AR15-type muzzle brakes on your rifle by having them bored out for .308. At least, that is how I like to do it. You may not be able to do that so easily with an already short M14 therefore, go for the long one.

The Blackfeather does look great but had you read my first post it stated that I had already ordered the EBR stock and was not looking for "buy this on instead" answer. That being said, your last post about choosing the longer barrel for future options makes sense......thank you.

Where can I get USGI connector lock and pin? Don't find on brownells website...only springfield connector lock
That's the connector lock that you need. You will have to sand it down some which isn't that big of a deal if you have a drill. I just did mine with that pin to get ready for my sage.

You will all discover that the connector lock is one tough mother. Damn, it's hardened so well. Took me 10 minutes with a high speed drill (really high speed but I cannot remember the RPMs). The Norc connector lock is smaller in diameter by a few thou. It was a learning experience, that's for sure! :D

Keep us posted on the EBR install fun!

cheers,
Barney

For the hard stuff you usually want to drill at a lower RPM with some cutting fluid and a nice, sharp bit. Helps even more if you pilot drill it first with a smaller bit. Just vary the pressure of your finger on the drill trigger until you find the sweet spot where it bites in and cuts and keep the pressure as constant as possible. That's from my experience drilling aircraft exhausts mufflers/stacks and cotter pin holes for bolts.

I think I just realized you're talking about grinding with a drill, disregard if so

Yeah, I figured that out as my original plan was to try and do it by hand. I smartened up after seeing I was making almost no progress and borrowed a drill. Been stuck trying to get the flash hider off for the past few days its stuck on my barrel real good. I have tried everything that is suggested in all the threads I have ever found on removing flash hiders. I may have to cut the darn thing off which isn't that bad since I do have a sei navy break on the way but I wouldn't have minded having an extra flash hider around.
