In addition to my intended use for a 10/22 the packaging for the 25 round mag lists Ruger 77/22 which is fine but it also lists "AMT Lightning" which covers some pistols which would be restricted.
Does anyone know for sure that the magazine does not fit any AMT Lightning pistol?

The Lightning they are referring to is a rifle, essentially a 10/22 clone. The Lightning pistol looks is more like a MkII which could never use a 10/22 magazine.

Pistol Magazines are limited to 10 rounds of the as designed caliber. You can legally stuff 13-15 rounds of 9mm into a magazine marked for .40 S&W, provided said magazine can hold no more than 10 rounds of .40 S&W.

I've had minimal issues with the BC mags but the Ruger ones look much better and look more durable also. I havn't seen very many complaints as far as youtube reviews go.

Sorry. How bush1 knows the BC mags are better than Ruger BX mags.

My friend in the US has both and he said both work equally fine but he likes the BC better. He likes that he can see how many rounds are left.

Based on that, I bought one and also bought the BC Hot Lips speed loader. Both work great & I can't say enough about the Hot Lips Loader. Sure goes through a lot of ammo in a hurry......

Are you sure the packaging says the 10/22 mag with fit into a 77/22? I'm certain, though they're one of the few Rugers I don't own, that 77 and 96's are the same mag. But the 10/22 isn't

Edit. Apparently I'm wrong....Taken from the 77/22 manual" NOTE: The Ruger 10/22 magazine (BX-1) will fit in the model 77/22 rifle, but the
bottom section of the 10/22 magazine will not be flush with the trigger guard
assembly of the 77/22."
