GunNewb...you can't go wrong with Blazer in my opinion.
I stock a number of various brands depending on need.
My sons each have Marlin XT-22's that are fitted with Leapers 4-14 tactical scopes and bipods. They are trying to perfect their shooting at 100yds plus and the copper plated American Eagle seems to work very well for that.
But they are a little expensive for general plinking (400rd brick is about $23 at P&D).
For 50yds target shooting they use RWS Target...but at $8 or so for 50 it ain't cheap.
The Blazer is $21 for 525 (loose). I love this stuff. We have two guns (Mossberg 715T and GSG 1911) that are considered to be ammo picky. Both of these shoot this stuff with virtually no issues (both do not like copper plated).
It pretty accurate. I'd say a little less so than the American at 100yds...but we're talking 1.5" groups vs 2"...nothing to sneeze at. (I'm talking consistent groups here...both are capable of 1MOA on a windless day, the planets are all aligned and the gods are smiling.)
If I could only buy one .22 ammo it would be Blazer.
