Hello all,

I'm looking to buy my first reloading kit, I've come across three that look promising.

Hornady's Lock 'n Load Classic Deluxe Kit

Lyman's Crusher Expert Deluxe Kit

and RCBS's Rockchucker Supreme Master Reloading Kit.

Which one of these is the best?
I'm looking for a really tough, durable kit here.
If you recommend one I don't have listed here, feel free to mention it.

Thanks

Yup, all three will work well and should last a lifetime of use.
Which one has the best warranty and which one fits into your home decor are the next two choice one will need to make.
Enjoy,
Rob

Agree with Rob. I have not priced the others but if prophet river still has the rcbs kit reduced that would seal the deal for me. I have two rock chuckers a new one and one so old I cannot remember when we got it and never a problem with either.

My only complaint about the Lyman is the thread size. The Hornady and RCBS are both threaded 1-1/4" and can handle quick change bushings and larger dies. The Lyman press is only threaded 7/8". I ended up getting mine bored and threaded for the larger size so I can use things like a Piggyback and quick change bushings.

What about the Lee kit? I know they are cheaper of the bunch but how is the quality of them? You can pick them up pretty cheap.

They probably will be fine for non-demanding use but I personally could never recommend any LEE press as the linkage is prone to breakage with heavy use. If you can find them cheap enough you might want to buy 2 so you can keep on loading while waiting for replacement parts. ;) LoL

Don't bash the Lee Classic Turret press. Solid steel pins, linkage and handle.

I load, at last count anyways, 18 calibers, I have used all of the afore mentioned exept the L,N,L, I currently have two 650's, a 550 and a Lee Classic Turret. I've said it before that if i had to choose only one press to keep & load with, it would be the Lee.

Lee Classic Turret (cast iron and steel linkage) or Lee Classic Cast (same) are great presses. Only Classic Turret can be had in a kit, the Cast single stage comes by itself. RCBS kit is nice too, one of the better scales and powder throwers.

The RCBS kit at Prophet River is as cheap as you can get it, just as cheap as in the US. I have had warranty claims with all three companies with no problems. RCBS is rock solid & didn't even ask for the old parts back.

For warranty reasons I vote RCBS as well, they are simply amazing. Even if it was near intentional breakage, and you acquired the 50 year old equipment at a garage sale, they still replace it at no cost, no questions asked. I often wonder how they make money, lol.

Well, I made up my mind.

Ordered the RCBS Rockchucker kit from Prophet River yesterday.
Can't wait to get started.

Thanks to everyone who gave their 2 cents.
