price of parker hale

I'd start by finding your missing commas and periods. After that, I would open an offer at $125, and go up from there. Unless it is in spectacular condition, I would not pay more than $200. Seeing as it is a sporting rifle already, make and manufacture is likely irrelevant, as such I would firstly note how the bolt releases. If the rifle is a No. 4 MKI, there will be a little tab that engages the bolt head at the very rear of it's travel, if the rifle is a No. 4 MKI*, there will be a cutout about 1/2" from the breech that allows the head to lift and be removed. Check what kind of magazine it has. I personally dislike flush magazines and like the big ol' ten-rounder, but I hear some people actually like the look of a flush five-rounder. Check what kind sights it has, if any at all; a two position flip is very "meh", but a milled micrometer style is much more useful. Is it setup for a scope of any kind? How is the wood finished (caked in varnish, finely oiled, dings, cracks, repairs etc)? How is the bore? Lots of stuff to look for.

if its a parker hale factory sporter in my opinion 200-300 bucks, if you can get it cheaper great, its mostly in what you value the gun at, if its one of those" ive gotta have it no matter the price" rifles well then the prices are unlimited, in amazing condition, 200-300 bucks, hope it helps,
 
A Parker Hale No.4 sporter in good shape is worth every bit of $350. Make and manufacture are not "largely irrelevant". The P-H sporters were essentially new rifles with decent stocks, barrels and sights, far ahead of a cut down military rifle. Some people have a hard time separating chopped up military jobs from essentially factory sporters on a military action. The flush mags are only appealing to those who carry a rifle in the woods and have no use for ten rounds at their disposal. To me the real .303 sporters are undervalued in Canada and are hard to beat as hunting rifles.
 
I got one a coup;e of years ago that needed refinishing for $180 and considered it a steal. A parker hale is a damned fine rifle and worht what you are willing to pay. The first response to your post didn't know much about Parker Hales. They would NEVER come with a 2 position sight. THis is NOT a milsurp. It is a damned fine sporting rifle .
 
I bought a Parker Hale Enfield sporter a few years ago for 250$. It's built on a No.4 Mrk 2. It has gorgeous walnut on it, a great 2 stage trigger and shoots groups I wont describe without pictures ( I dont have any ) If its in excellent shape, I'd go 350.
As you can tell, they are one of my favourites and this thread properly belongs in the hunting and sporting forum. PH aren't bubbas

I paid either $235 or $250. Can't recall. But it does not matter. It is a fine example of a Parker hale No1 Mk3 with only one scratch on it and all of the blueing intact. Just had a Japanese scope on it form the 50s that was broke. Got a new scope for it and built some custom hand loads for it and found that it has become my favorite hunting rifle of all of my hunting rifles I have ever had.

I wish I had found it twenty years ago.

The 'Custom' was the top of the line, followed by the 'Supreme', the 'De Luxe' and then the 'Standard'
