Zeiss Conquest HD5 Series, anybody know anything?

Just got a chance to look through them so far and definitely an improvement over the original Conquest line as far as optical quality goes and not like the Conquest was bad. Hope to try one out in the very near future.

Maybe I should forget the Sightron and NF I wanna try and give this one a whirl!!!

In my opinion The sightron and NF are superior for long range work with the 30mm tubes, the conquest would make a better hunting scope possibly. The hd only has 65 MOA vertical travel, the sightron is 6 ounces lighter with 100moa travel (and a little cheaper). The NF is a level above the 2, perhaps not optically, but construction wise. Depends what you want to do with it. Weight wise the 5-25 at 26 ounces is probably one of the heaviest in its class. The swarovski z6 5-30 with 30mm tube is only 22 ounces. NF is much heavier but I have one an love it.

I looked into them a bit more, they don't have the reticules that would work for long range. This is the one area that Zeiss is kinda missing out on IMO, the long range high mag. scopes.

And after much reading and opinions that I can find I think I am going to go with the SIII 8-32 with LRMOA.It has 70 MOA of adjustment and with my 40 MOA rail and an extra 20 in the reticule there shouldn't be anything but my ability to hold me back.

Weight and size won't be an issue for this rifle.

I had a 8-32 lrmoa and loved it, only got rid of it to try a NF. They both have their strong points. You can't beat the reticle on the sightron for precise shooting, but I found it hard to pick up in low light for hunting. You won't be disappointed.

Really depends what ranges you want to shoot for sure but 65 MOA gets you out there a long ways with most flat shooting cartridges. If I'm not mistaken that's more adjustment than the Z6. If a person goes for the Rapid Z reticle them MOA travel is pretty well moot. It all depends what you want to use it for but for a 700 yard scope, I can't see there being an issue with turrets or Rapid Z. If you are looking to shoot past 800, then ya, the NF likely is a better option.

What do you consider long range?
