i was at the LGS last friday when i found a Ruger MKII Target for $300,I asked if he would hold it for me untill i sold my GSG 1911 and he said sure,i put the GSG on EE friday afternoon at 1PM and it was sold at 2:30(was asking 315+shipping)so i picked it up today and am totally impressed by how well built and heavy it is.I hope it shoots better than my GSG did:p Only one mag came with it but its in fantastic shape for being built in 1991.I cant wait to shoot it.

It will definitely, 100% for sure shoot better than your gsg did. If you want an accurate, well built and durable, and under $400 .22 pistol, you buy a Ruger, BOTTOM LINE. It's made of steel. Guess how many other .22's are :)

Very nice!

I like the bull barrels over the tapered myself though may stray to a slabside one day should one appear when I have the itch.

Read the directions and watch youtube for info before stripping it down. I have a MkI and a MkII 22/45 and still sometimes have issues getting them back together after cleaning.

Great gun you got there. I have bought alot of 22 pistols and sold, but my markIII is still in my vault. They are not hard to feed they shoot everything

Very nice. I picked up a Mark II last year and love it. I take it with me to the range more often than I expected I would. Great gun for beginner guests at the range also.

My reg cert finally showed up while I was at work today for my new to me Mark II Target in stainless. It is from 1991 and has the tapered barrel. I went straight to the range after work and I fed it junky American Eagle bulk and it was driving tacks. Could not believe what a dream it is to shoot! This .22 is great! Best $150 I EVER SPENT. I hope you enjoy it, I am thinking I may shoot it more often than I thought

I hope it shoots better than my GSG did:p

Were you not happy with the GSG? Everywhere I've been reading here so far said the GSG was a really good handgun and pretty accurate for it's price. I've been leaning towards getting one for my first handgun because of the good reviews. Did you have problems with it?

Nothing wrong with a GSG 1911, BUT i was searching for something a little more well built and accurate, thats all.I bought a GSG as my first hand gun also and was happy with it.

One thing I will say, my 22/45 DOES NOT like Winchester 555 at all. Won't feed it. The other types of Winchester seem to be fine though. Eats Blazer all day and loves it.

I run mine exclusively on Winchester 555 and have never had a jam or FTF, plus it seems to shoot quite well with it. Funny how each one has its own personality eh.

My Mk II was built in 1989.
It's a 5.5' bull barrel in stainless steel.
24 years later, it still looks and performs just like brandnew.
This is without any doubt the absolute BEST/EST 22lr handgun choice.
(in it's price range)

:)

BTW, I love how easy it is to track the production date of Ruger firearms online.
And the best thing, it's free.
