Just wondering if someone could recommend a supplier for and aftermarket trigger for the above rifle. Thought I would ask first then do some calling around but figured someone could save some time. It is a .338winmag with a manufacture date 2005-2006. Also could you recommend a specific brand pros cons, Timney, rifle basixs are only two I know of. Thanks

Timney works great. Take care when re-working your safety or you'll render it inoperative. It's a very fine line between all-good & all bad. Trust me ;)

I also went with a Timney trigger on my ruger mK II 338 win mag. I ordered mine from CI distribution out of Guelph as I am not to far away from there myself. Installation was fairly easy and simple, I did reuse the factory spring along with the new Timney trigger which gave a nice 3lb. pull weight. Just take your time when fitting the new trigger to the safety. I used a 1x30"'belt sander and file and everything turned out great, a definite improvement over the factory trigger. I had similar results with my 77/22, ended up with a 2.5lb pull weight which I am very happy with. I would not however recommend their ruger tang safety trigger as I experienced a design flaw with mine (although I did get it to work I just had to eliminate the bolt lock feature) it took more time and labour to make it work than it should have IMO.

Thanks for the replies guys. I decided to work the stock trigger myself by just sanding the sharp edge a bit. worked great but it suprised me how little was needed to make a huge difference. Took it from 5-6lbs to 3ish. May still get aftermarket after trying this for a bit, will have to see.

I bought a beautiful 1.5# jard trigger for my .204 off a member here that is absolutely amazing. To me anyways. Makes everything, even the acutrigger I love so much feel heavy and awkward. Maybe a bit light for a big game rifle but a quality piece.
