Good news!

Suggested: from Brownell's, order the extended mag release catch and the bolt release; about $40.00.

If you're gonna scope it, make sure your scope's profile when mounted will still slide into the carry bag.

Tri-Mag and BC 25 round mags with auto loader are good accessories.

Have fun.

I intend to go with one of my Hilux AKR 1X4X24, and actually, i broke the curse 2 times today, if you go on the black powder forum, i got a pre 78 Hawken cal 54, a real beauty for a sssstuper price deal from Prophet... JP.

make sure you get the steel lips version of the BC 25 round mags. They work with all the Federal, CCI, Winchester and Remington ammo I have tried so far. Lots of fun, but it's very easy to run through a lot of ammo in a very short time.

If the only problem is running tru to much ammo, kind of problem, i will take everyday of the week... JP.

I had a terrible leading problem at first, but it turned out to be the Remington Thunderbolt I was using. Blazer, CCI std velocity, Federal and Winchester all work fine. It's real handy being able to take the barrel off to check it and makes cleaning really easy.

I just pulled the trigger on a takedown as well. I was going to wait, but i figured with the shortages of everything in the states it could be years before they are back in stock again

I always favor CCI Stinger in all of my LR, it is a great ammo and it shoot very thight out of my SR-22, Papoose and Marling 981T, i bought a brick of 5000 rounds before the events in the US of A, and you never know sometimes when i take my walk on our farm house land, i may encounter Willy coyote, killed 2 in the last few years with Stinger ammo, it is very lethal up to a 100 metres... Looking at that target makes me get excited to try out my brand new SR22 next weekend - what are you running for an optic?

For me bc 25 steel lips version have been crap. I have 2 and always get ff (with cci) and they are loose. The factory mag no problems at all.

I only use the 10 rounds factoy mag, i always have at least 5 in my pocket and like my father used to say to me when a lad, JP if you can not hit what you are after with 6 rounds ( 5 in the mag , one in the chamber ), you might as well spend more time fly fishing, great man, my old man... JP.

Tell me where you get your factory mags from and i will order 5 more, i hate my bc mags.

f55 do you clean them once in a while? I found that CCI and some batches of Blazer can have a pretty thick coating of wax on them that can build up around the feed lips. Can definitely prevent the rounds from feeding up reliably. I run a quetip down through the feed lips every now and then and cleans up pretty easy.

Le Baron had them a couples a weeks ago, but now, i would not know, i have a couple of Steiner scopes put aside for the no tax sale from the 21 to the 24 when i fetch them you want me to check for you and buy you some if they have them in stock, myself i might buy a couples more in the sale... JP.

BC steel lips usually need fitting. The top of the feed lip header rubs on the bolt slowing it down causing stoppages. The top and corner edge needs filing to clear the bolt. Then they rarely malfunction. Oh and load them to max and let them sit for a day or two to set the spring.

VanMan, the bc 25 mags had ff from the first rounds, i picked them up when i purchased my 10/22 takedown.

SuperNova, will have to give this a try, but are they supposed to be so loose?

JP, thanks for the info, i will head over to lebaron tomorrow morning and check.
